Target Continues Ban on Salvation Army, Adds Sex Toy Products
American Family Association | 10/7/2005 | Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman

Posted on 10/07/2005 1:30:13 PM PDT by dvan

Target Corporation will continue to ban the Salvation Army from their 1,351 stores this Christmas season. The Army will not be allowed to place their red kettles in front of Target stores.

Despite increased need caused by the hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Target continues to bar the Salvation Army.

Many observers feel that the ban by Target is a result of pressure put on the company by homosexual groups. Homosexual activists have targeted the Salvation Army for years because of the Army's refusal to recognize their lifestyle. Target is a supporter of various homosexual causes.

While Target contributes to homosexual groups, the company publicly states that they will not contribute to any religious groups. For Target, homosexual organizations are worthy of financial support, Christian and Jewish organizations are not.

Further showing Target's true colors, WTOP Radio Network in Washington, DC, reports that Target is one of the national chains that will be carrying a new line of women's products that includes a vibrator.

Elexa by Trojan spokeswoman Cassandra Johnson says the products will be discreetly packaged and sold in the feminine care aisle.

"Formerly the domain of sex shops, such products have been brought out of the shadows by popular television shows like 'Sex and the City,'" WTOP reported.

While Target continues to ban the Salvation Army, competitors such as Wal-Mart are increasing their donations to the Salvation Army. Wal-Mart and others continue to welcome the Army's kettles.

Please send an email asking Target to end their ban of the Salvation Army and their offering of a sex toy line of products. In addition, you can email Wal-Mart, thanking them for supporting the Salvation Army.

Send Your Email To Target and Wal-Mart Now! Please help us spread this important information about Target by forwarding this to your friends and family.

Sincerely,

Don

I did the exact same thing last year. Also, because of my location, I have started to shop at Linens&Things, Kitchen Store, and the like for things I need. I don't think I've even looked at a Target Sunday circular this year.

The bell ringers of the Salvation Army make the Christmas
holiday shopping very sweet and charming. If Target wants to shoot their foot off, I say fire away!

I think you're wrong about the boycott. Boycotts can be successful. But aside from that, I will not shop at Target because of their policies, regardless of what others choose to do. I'm curious to know more about why you still shop there.

A) Target banning Salvation Army isn't important enough to bother with.
B) I don't believe they banned SA.
C) I agree with their decision.
D) I think I would be more inconvenienced than Target if I boycotted them.
E) Some other reason which I will explain.
F) None of your business.

If Target engaged in a policy that you strongly disagreed with (like maybe holding anti-troop rallies every weekend), would you boycott them?

Well you can't achieve one with a vibrator. You'd have to engage in an act that even Clinton would define as sex.

Or artificial insemination, or swallowing a watermelon seed, or waiting for the stork ...

D...as I have said.

At least until the Super Walmart is completed in my town. Then we will see.

Now if I could only get an Andersen's, it would REALLY be on :)

If they were holding anti-troop rallies at the store in Springfield, I would be heckling them...........

If you know of someone who can achieve an organism with a vibrator, that would be big news. Now, an orgasm is another matter entirely.

I could care LESS whether or not Target has the SA outside the store... I could probably list 100's of stores that do not have the SA outside.

I can give to the SA anywhere I want. Actually I choose to give my charity money to my church and let them distribute, it's always worked out quite well. And I don't expect them to be in front of Target or WalMart.

For me, I prefer shopping at Target than I do the land grabbing eminent domain claiming WalMart. I will shop there on occasion for small cheap stuff, but any large and important purchase I'll do at Target.

And GUESS WHAT... this is America, I can shop where I want! And so can you. And, here's another rub... it's free enterprise, Target can have the SA or not.

hummmm... ladies vibrators, really?

I think it is nutty that a woman would need a "vibrator" to achieve an organism.

Boy do you need to get out more...

The ban was definitely in effect for the Montana stores. When I asked about why, the clerk (who was all 20) told me they give 'loads of money' to more worthy causes. That was the last time I was in there store. Me and my money can donate anytime we want to Salvation Army, but I don't need to line Target's pockets ever again.

It seems obvious you want viewers to think you are in Iraq. I ponder for what reason you think it is necessary to advertise?

Is achieving an organism from a vibrator evolution or creationism?

That question deserves its own thread. If you post it, I'll bring the popcorn.

"Some people don't get it..."

er...That's who the vibrator is for--the people who don't get it.

Does this mean I'm only allowed to post while on my motorcycle? And what about that freeper with the Amish name (Amish Dude?).

Mike has been upfront about his time in Iraq. If newbies get confused, they'll figure it out in time. It's not like he's made any false claims.

I was referring to an earlier situation in the post you mention.

That said, my time in Iraq has had a real impact on my life and the way I tend to view things now. I will often refer to Iraq when appropriate because it had a profound impact on my life.
