That's good to see.

I hope Forrester can make the case that NJ doesn't need another multi-millionaire who feels like switching jobs every 4-6 years.

Is that sarcasm?

In the 1980s, Forrester became Assistant State Treasurer in the Kean Administration, and later went on to direct the pension system for state employees. In 1990, Forrester founded BeneCard Services, Inc., a pharmacy benefits management firm (or PBM) that provides prescription drug coverage primarily to public sector entities. In a financial disclosure statement in 2002, Forrester reported his 51% share in the company to be worth over $50,000,000. In 2003, Forrester started Heartland Fidelity with Robert Ullman, his partner in Benecard.

Forrester ran for the Senate in 2002

It's tough to support a guy who's principle campaign policy is further obfuscation of the tax code (a plan by the way which also has the support of the NEA). He's going to help remove the limits placed on the teachers unions by the state constitution and let them get their hands an income tax money as well as property tax money. Woo hoo I can't wait.

It's lucky for him he's running against the Antichrist.

If Forrester doesn't make it to 42%, some folks are going to owe Bret Schundler a big apology.

Bret Schundler was an awesome Mayor from an overwhelmingly Democrat city. But he lost the 2001 Governor's race by a wide margin. Why couldn't he convert his hometown popularity into votes?

Jon Corzine was the speaker at my graduation from Univ of Chicago Business School in 2001. It was just a bunch of liberal bilge about 'universal healthcare' and whole other bunch of "rights." He got no applause from the school that use to employ Milton Friedman.

It seems to me Jersey expects and has no problem with having crooks run their state and local governments.

I therefore don't hold out a lot of hope for anyone other than a DUmbocRAT winning, even if they have to keep counting the ballots until they get the "correct" result.

Well damn. I feel stupid.

I thought I'd been following the race close than that.

I didn't realize Forrester's wealth. I retract my previous comment.

That's OK. It's kinda funny, if you take yourself out of it. I guess that's what politics has come to.

he was painted as a pawn for the nra, the repub party was afraid to support him. we need a candidate like schundler to turn this state upside down. until then, this state will conduct business as usual...

Jon Corzine has brought an odd brand of corruption to New Jersey that has utterly confused us.

Corrupt politicians are usually the ones who are caught accepting bribes in exchange for some kind of government action or influence. In a bizarre turn of events, Corzine has become a politician who pays other people for their support.

The guy is a Marxist who looks like a politician from the '90s (the 1890s, that is) -- but I have to admit that I find his brand of corruption quite refreshing.

When I graduated from the Univ of Minnesota in '03, our commencement speaker was a judge from the UN's International Court of Justice.

Here's his bio: http://www.icj-cij.org/icjwww/igeneralinformation/icvjudge/Buergenthal.htm

We received the same old bilge and bile about the US needing to work together with other countries of the world. This, of course, was only a few months after the invasion of Iraq.

The 23-year useful idiots gave him a standing ovation after his speech. I remained in my chair and didn't applaud.

I'm glad I didn't have to shake his hand as I walked across the stage to collect my diploma. I would have had a few choice (but firmly polite) words for him.

Isn't that how he bought his senate seat in the first place?

but I have to admit that I find his brand of corruption quite refreshing.

There's something suspect about a very rich capitalist who promotes socialist programs for the rest of us.

Your comment proves my point, corruption, who cares?

I'd like to think it's winnable, and I think it'll be close, but in the end, I still think we'll lose.

Schundler would have been a better candidate. But I think he would have lost too.

NJ is to the GOP what that large chested, perfect skinned, friendly seeming cheerleader was in high school. She might act nice to us, and even tease us into thinking we have a chance, and we might even get to go out with her ugly sister (i.e. Whitman), but the prize will always be out of our hands

win or lose, Forrester's media ads have been excellent. when the story about Corzine's bimbo payoffs were running, Mrs Forrester ran a very good first person ad talking about the stability of her husband. The Forrester ad with the Dems talking about switching parties over corruption was also good. and now he is turning the tables on Corzine, running ads saying Corzine is for tax cuts for his rich friends. and the Tom Keane ad is good also.

Corzine must be getting desperate - his new ads now link Forrester to Bush.

****sigh****

The media (Newark Star Ledger, NJN, et al) will use these poll numbers to fire up the dem base.

It'll be down to the wire by election day.

And Corzine will kick Forrester's ass.

Forrester should run ads of McGreevey and Corzine together.
