Terrorist Threat Closes New York's Penn Station

NEW YORK -- Authorities closed part of Penn Station on Friday and commuters headed to work under the watchful eyes of police after a newly disclosed terror threat against the New York subway system.
Workers in hazardous material suits, National Guardsmen and police with dogs were at the transportation hub beneath Madison Square Garden by late morning.
"We do have a police situation at Penn Station," said Amtrak spokeswoman Marice Golgoski, who declined to elaborate. "The Amtrak police and the NYPD are involved."
One of the main entrances was closed off with yellow crime scene tape and a portion of the concourse above the tracks was also sealed to the public.
According to Golgoski, Amtrak was still boarding some trains and operating some ticket windows despite the problems.
A mile away at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, more officers were visible on the streets, and one lane of traffic on Ninth Avenue was reserved for emergency vehicles.
Officials in New York revealed the threat Thursday, saying an FBI source warned that terrorists had plotted to bomb the subway in coming days. But Homeland Security officials in Washington downplayed the threat, saying it's of "doubtful credibility."

True we need to enforce current laws; however, I'd like to see a couple of new ones:
1) states and cities MUST enforce Federal laws (e.g., they cannot decide not to ask if someone is illegal, etc. like some of the laws localities have passed).
2) change the Constitution to read
Article XIV
Section. 1. All persons born OF LEGAL ALIENS OR CITIZENS
or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside
I love babies as much as the next person and feel for the poor people of Mexico and other countries who want better lives for their families; however, there are millions crossing the border each year just to have a baby born in the US and the baby is then automatically a US citizen. If the baby is not born to LEGAL Aliens or US citizens, then I don't think the baby should be a US citizen (and get benefits) either.
I also agree w Sono that the Feds should start reimbursing the hospitals for care of illegals - we could also add the schools as well. I saw a clip a few months back where buses were bringing kids from CA to Mexico each day - after they finished school in CA, the bus was there to transport them back to Mexico - - that's ridiculous! While we're at it, let's throw in court and jail costs.
If the vast majority of folks in the US saw budget line items for healthcare and education provided to and court and jail costs needed for illegals and how much money was going to that, perhaps they'd stand up and take notice a bit more. Or, if we deducted all of these costs from the money we're sending the Mexican gov't, perhaps they'd start taking notice and doing a bit more.
Of course, fining employers who hire illegals would help, too.
May I beg the indulgence of all here to go a tad off topic..for some info...not sure if this has been asked/answered before..re the report of the terrorists targeting the NYC subways...it mentions a specific number of 19 terrorists...I noticed that, because it's an odd number, and it is also the same number as the terrorists who died on 9/11..It has to have some significance..
The House voted for 1000 more Border control agents in the Homeland Security funding bill they passed yesterday...
BUT, they offset those by cutting down on airport screeners, according to the radio news I heard this morning..
