Not sure about "evangelical Christian", but I am sure about being an evangelist for the Texas Lottery. The gospel of "scratch and sniff".
LOL... I wish it were that simple...
Cute concept tho...
Oh, well. On to the next baseless charge of elitism.
I'm sorry you missed the humor value in it, as I labeled it.

One final note on George W. Bushs management style and his Harvard Business School background does not derive from the classroom, per se. One feature of life there is that a subculture of poker players exists. Poker is a natural fit with the inclinations, talents, and skills of many future entrepreneurs. A close reading of the odds, combined with the ability to out-psych the opposition, leads to capital accumulation in many fields, aside from the poker table.
By reputation, the President was a very avid and skillful poker player when he was an MBA student. One of the secrets of a successful poker player is to encourage your opponent to bet a lot of chips on a losing hand. This is a pattern of behavior one sees repeatedly in George W. Bushs political career. He is not one to loudly proclaim his strengths at the beginning of a campaign. Instead, he bides his time, does not respond forcefully, at least at first, to critiques from his enemies, no matter how loud and annoying they get. If anything, this apparent passivity only goads them into making their case more emphatically.
Fun article! ;>
she is a born again Chistian and member of an evangelical church in Dallas. In fact, she joined 200 others in breaking away in the last couple of months to go with her pastor of the last 25 years when he was replaced by a new PC preacher.
As to her time at the lottery, she was put in to clean up the corruption left over from Anne Richards administration. You know, friends of Ronnie Earle. She has been highly praised for cleaning up a very corrupt organnization.
Funny!
The issue of proud conservatism goes right to the heart of this article. It's funny, but the assumption is that real, genuine conservatism can't win, we have to be 'stealth'.
Bull! We should be rolling and punking these leftists every chance we get instead of accomodating their socialism.
I have no problems with getting into a streetfight with Leftists. The problem as I see it, however, is that this "rolling and punking" more often than not targets some who should be considered allies. Therefore, it can be corrosive on the personal level.

Well, I consider Meiers an ally, from what I know about her- admittedly, not much. It's not her with whom I've got the problem.
It's the behavior and strategy of the White House. It's been a lot of years, he has our support to further the conservative agenda, and so often he fails to live up.
The Supreme Court is THE reason that I supported the GOP twice. So,in the big picture, my gripe about the lack of guts on display here is small. I hope (and that's what we're reduced to with an unknown like Miers) that she will defend the Constitution in the long run, in which case our support for Bush will have paid off. That's what's truly important.
But instead of someone like Brown, who we could have all supported with an uprising, we are throttled back into neutral. Oh well.
Indeed! That's the status we have to get back to! Gonna take a coordinated effort to move all sorts of governmental power back to the states, though. And that included electing senators who don't re-elect themselves by divvying up your excessive taxes.
Vote for the fiscal conservative and all else will follow.
Know when to hold them, know when to fold them........I think George is doing great. The more I hear about Miers the more I like her.
"It's funny, but the assumption is that real, genuine conservatism can't win, we have to be 'stealth'."
No. We have to be smarter; otherwise, why be conservative?
Yeah, it is. I got a kick out of it. And I'm continually getting kicks at all of the reactionaries of late.
