If nepotism works for the Democrats in Pennsylvania, it'll work fine for us in New Jersey.

Unfortunately, I sense Kean may be another Olympia Snowe in waiting.

So do I, and I'm not thrilled. But remember, New Jersey isn't known for its conservativism and Republican voting habits. Incrimental gains are better than no gains at all.

I know nothing about Junior Kean, and have low expectations. But it would be sweet to take away a blue state Senate seat.

Whoo Hooo! There are also more rats up for re-election than us.

True. Though if Michael Steele and Mark Kennedy also win, it won't bother me too much. The more our majority is padded, the less of a worry Kean will be.

Probably so.

But is that not better than another Jon Corzine?

Oh absolutely. He defintely will be better than Corzine or any New Jersey RAT. If given the choice, I'd vote for him.

Better the RINO we know than the Democrat we don't know.

And yet we here nothing of this, while the Santorum race is front-page news.

It would be sad but ironic if in 2006 there is a democrat from Pa but republicans from NJ and Md.

Sadder if there are democrats from several red states because conservatives all stay home.

There's more good news. The last Florida poll had Nelson at 47 and Harris at 44.

That said, this is good news.

But coutdown to a bunch of Donner's Pass types screaming about what a RINO Kean is.

An Olympia Snowe clone? Instead of Torracelli/Lautenberg/Corzine/Menendez?

Sounds GREAT!!!

That's sort of good news - but keeping Santorum would be better than gaining a Kean.

I bet they fight to keep Corzine on just like KKK Byrd. Wanna bet somebody big pads Corzine's pockets to stay on just one more term...

Repeat after me:

The most important vote any Senator casts in each session of Congress is the vote for Majority Leader.

That Majority Leader defines all floor agendas. Votes on conservative priorities would never reach the floor, let alone win the vote, if the GOP did not have the majority.

RINOs cast that vote properly. That's why they are worth having.

Corzine is going to be elected Governor this year, though the race is tightening, and he will appoint a successor to succeed him.

That's why this news is so good to hear.

Indeed, which is the only reason I'm rooting for Tom Kean, Jr.

Corzine lost all interest in the U.S. Senate on the day the GOP gained a clear majority in 2002. It's bad enough being a senator in the minority party, but when you are in the minority party and you are the "senior" Senator from your state with only two years in the Senate, you have less influence in Washington than a doorknob.

NJ is a Dem state, but they love their RINOs. Look how close Christine Todd Whitman came to unseating Bill Bradley a few years back. Kean seems like a RINO if he is like his father. It is uncertain if he has the skills of Whitman, who is probably among the best campaigners in America.
