I think when the subway blows up, they'll tell us it was not terrorist related, and had nothing to do with the recent terrorist threats.

According to officials this is an accident and there is no suspicious activity involved.

Yup. And the OC bomber was just 'depressed' (frequented a Mosque, Jihadist materials found in his lodgings, nails embedded in a tree near where he blew up, he had been trying to buy Ammonium Nitrate, a chemical used by some Jihadists including the attempted shoe bomber Richard Reid was in his backpack, he tried to get into the football game at halftime and ran away rather than submit to having the backpack searched, his roommate was from Pakistan...)

Even Monica wouldn't swallow THAT!

My daughter and I plan to take the subway train to lecture this evening.

No extra precautions other than our ordinary protective headgear.

Bus Catches Fire Inside Brooklyn Battery Tunnel

Oct 7, 2005 7:04 am US/Eastern

(1010 WINS) NEW YORK A fire on a city bus crossing the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel during yesterday's evening rush hour forced 20 passengers to evacuate. The incident occurred on a day when tensions were high due to a terror threat to the city's subway system.

Heavy smoke began pouring from the bus at around 7 p.m. when the bus was heading towards Brooklyn. Twenty passengers got off and walked to the Brooklyn side of the tunnel. Police say 13 of them were treated for smoke inhalation.

The Bomb Squad searched the bus, but found no suspicious packages. Police say the fire appeard to be mechanical.

The bus caught fire hours after city officials warned the public of a terror threat to the city's subway system.

Brookly-bound traffic was delayed for about an hour.

Traffic delayed for an hour? I watched the traffic cam on mta.nyc.ny.us/bandt/index.html until after 12:30am last night and the tunnel was still closed by the time I went to bed.

I guess that means traffice was rerouted?
