This whole thing smells funny. I took the B and the C to Penn Sta., and the LIRR home at 5:15 and there wasn't a bit of diff in security. All of a sudden at 5:30, Mayor Mikie speaks and everyone goes into high gear? No security rampup prior to the announcement?

I think that they're just playing CYA after getting jacked around by a lying PUC.

At least, I hope that's what it is. :)
