The President mentions the goal of the enemy as wanting to establish an empire stretching from Spain to Indonesia. Doesn't liberating Afghanistan and Iraq effectively cut this 'Caliphate' in half?

And where was the capitol of this Caliphate to be located? Certainly, not in some mountain cave. Why not Baghdad with a terrorist infrastructure like Muktabarat et al already in place?

He's taken a harder stance on terror it seems, back to as hardline as he was after 9\11

That's a good sign. Maybe he'll take care of the "temporary" tax cuts (income and death) and help push Congress to make them permanent. That would start to repair some of the damage.

I agree with you -- it was an excellent speech. President Bush has only been in post, this term, for one year -- he's already framing matters that will continue after this term ends. He is an amazing man with an amazing team.

So you think any and all people who practice Islam faith are cutting heads off? Did I interpet this of yours correctly? The stats just don't bear this out, yeknew.

An asidem story (It's happened sufficient times for me to think it worthy of telling). A guy I respect, have known for years, tells me he thinks Christianity is evil and should be halted, banished, whatever. I ask him why? He tells me about one person, a relative, who went to church, was Christian, and the biggest fake in the world, a liar, mean, adulterer.

Let me ask you this, who then has the bigger "log in the eye"? The relative, or the guy telling me the story?

But of course, if one woman is being abused then naturally.. ALL women are being abused. It's Feminist Superbowl Sunday Logic! A special brand of bigotry.

Good post.

Please do not forget one crucial aspect to your analysis, and factor in this: The President has said, routinely, clearly, regularly -- that not only are we going after terrorists but also after THOSE who harbor, aid, and abet the terrorists. Domestically and abroad.

I lived in an area which is largely held by the "aiders and abettors" of illegal immigration. Like you, many of the terrorist network members and cells resided in my area. It wasn't too difficult to know this.

In my locale, it, at times, was a tough call about whether or not to make a call about a "suspicious" person. I know I certainly did my part. And in the process, learned a great deal.

For one thing, the "let it all hang-out/multi-culti/celebrate your "whateverness" crowds have encouraged not a homogeneity, or encouragement of those newly here (legally or illegally) to assimilate; but instead to bring their "past" cultural norms to America; and to basically, "force" it upon others, again, aided and abetted by those pushing the liberal agenda.

Ergo, in suburbia San Francisco, it's not unusual to see folks from other parts of the world behaving in ways that are "out" of character for that particular American/state region.

Is their behavior suspicious, or simply an outcropping of cultural norms acquired before living in America?

ACLU and others, aka: supporters of the "be different" agenda, play both sides against the middle in encouraging problems, but then rushing in to pretend to be the "civil" crusaders of rights they themselves have enshrined via special interest and lobby groups.

Ball, set, match.

The dismantling of that "hidden" zone is what has to happen first.

Find those "hidden" aiders and abbettors. Address the laws which "protect them". In doing so, you cut "power" of the ACLU and liberal legal lobbies in half. You locate the network of those within the college/University systems working "quietly" behind the scenes to aid and abet the "illegal" network. You find out who is aiding and abetting the Identity Theft, and fraudulent documents rings.

As these things happen, Legitimate Law Enforcement CAN do their jobs. Until then? It's an invitation for Law Enforcement Workers to get stuck inside a courtroom, and doing "paperwork" instead of their jobs.

People can rail "SHUT THE BORDERS" till the cows come home; and thiefs and the internal USA "illegal" network will find ways to break through that newly erected "barrier" in order to continue their "funding" games.

The paths to dealing with the "illegal" network ARE being addressed under President Bush. It's being done, rather quietly (thanks to "non-reportage" by the MSM), and as a result, more of the hidden-zone "illegal network" are being nabbed.

According to this site: Sitereview, the USA has a current population of 296,500,000. The site does not delineate whether or not your numbers (between 11 and 20 million illegals) are a part of the larger stat.

Yes, I do agree with you that illegals should not be here. They should be making attempts to be here legally, or to enter legally. No disagreement from me, whatsoever.

However, there are many "legal" ways by which illegals can be in the US. Which programs and laws do you think should be addressed first? Visiting Temp Visa programs via Universities and colleges? "Amnesty" programs? Med/Evac? Temp Working Visas?

My point is this: There are a whole TON of programs contributing to your stats, and of course, the problems. I've only listed a FEW of the "programs and laws" which permit "illegals" to be here. Which one of these do you wish to address first? The COYOTE issue (those who "walk into this country" illegals), maybe?

I wonder what percentage of the 11-20 million is the "walk-ins" stat, and what percentage are those qualifying as "illegal" under "legitimate" programs. Do you know?

Good citizen, Peach.

Years ago, I authored a piece defending my President against the verbal, emotional and physical abuse by his wife. President Clinton, it was. And I meant every word. I disliked the Clinton Whitehouse agenda, lack of scruples and morals something fierce. I disliked intensely, how much their group enjoyed taking America to the brink of totalitarianistic legal control, and the selling off of American security and interests to "foreign countries" all for their own personal benefit.

The shock and stun from those reading it, was, uh, palpable. I was NO Clinton Fan. But, nobody harms my President, and for as long as America remains a free country.

I continue to find it rather fascinating that the "anti-domestic abuse" usual suspects, continue to "levee" verbal and emotional abuse at President Bush.

They call it free speech.

And some of the usual suspects even think it okay to call women "ho's" etc., as a term of endearment.

Do you think it's possible the "anti-domestic abuse" usual suspects are confused about their own meanings and free speech?

Can't find a recording of this speech anywhere, typical old media. Anyone know where I can watch it/listen to it? I only heard snippets and today there is no mention of it ever happening, at least on CNN/FOX/Cspan, etc

Thanks in advance.

That's funny.

Well, it's sort of funny. What's not funny is how anxious some people are to see Iraq become a quagmire. Honorable people can legitimately feel we did not go into Iraq properly and they were free to debate before we went in.

But we are there now and I don't see how an American could feel s/he was being honorable while wishing for and/or gloating over a bad state of affairs in Iraq.

No. You didn't interpret correctly. I simply said that I know of no one who beheads people in the name of Jesus Christ. I have no idea nor do I care what the majority of those worshiping the child mole...er...Mohamed believe.
