Found out some more info. On Sunday afternoon when two people I know well went out walking (they were nosey) on the South Oval they saw kitchen matches everywhere around where the area. They wondered at the time if it was to mark where the "body" parts had been blown.

Just was talking on the phone to someone I trust completely who said that kitchen matches can be used to transmit disease.

Anyone have any ideas about this -- never thought to mention kitchen matches that were seen around the area Sunday afternoon.

How did your friends say that kitchen matches transmit disease? Are they soaked in some sort of agent?

I remember someone talking about the kitchen matches on a thread Sunday. I didn't really understand the significance.

I remember reading about matches all around. I don't know why but I immediately thought of them a kitchen matches and that maybe he was trying to get up the nerve to light the fuse to the bomb and that is why so many of them.

That was my first impression. It never occured to me that a cell phone would have been used to detonate it.

Just stretching here but match heads make a good propellent or worse if contained. I made a cannon in HS and used match heads for propellant. Works just as good as black powder.
Did the guy have a match head bomb?

I think someone on another thread said that some group held a candlelight ceremony of some sort at that site Sunday, and probably left the matches from lighting the candles. Makes sense to me. I think if they had been part of the crime scene, they would have been long gone by Sunday.
