Obviously it's the food in Canada. Duh. Bad mountain oysters?
Poutine, more likely.

Wake me when it kills someone under 90 years of age. I thought the good ole plain vanilla flu could be fatal to an extremely aged person.

That's nice Pippin. Thanks.
OTOH, if 1/2 of Toronto was taken out by a flu, we conservatives might have a chance at forming the next Government.
JOKE! (mostly.)

I remember listening to Art Bell a few weeks ago, and he had someone on the phone talking about dead birds in Toronto, and didn't know what was causing it. Could it be the Bird Flu??Dead birds are often associated with the West Nile Virus.

I'll go Legionnaire's as well. Last year I was in Toronto for two weeks and was sick just after four days there. Every time the air conditioners went on, my sinuses and eyes started to burn.

Depends...
Chances are the tests on the bug haven't come back yet. But if the CDC has been called in, chances are it's something they haven't seen in a while or at all...

Bird flu is a very logical conclusion. No tinfoil required.

CDC called in to investigate.
Would that be the United States' CDC?

As I've said before, the Canadian health officials learned only 1 thing from the SARS outbreak: cover up. No changes have been made to the health system in Canada. What Canada did learn was that a break out of a contagious, fatal disease turns into bad press and travel advisaries against Canada. Canadian health offcials know what's going on, but won't talk about it for fear of the political consequences. SARS was a warning. This could be the real thing. Political consequences are the main motivator in the government run Canadian health care systems and produces the typical, government, CYA-type cover ups in the western world. No attempt to fix the system, just better ways of hiding the problems. Isn't socialism grand!
