Paul L. Williams is a former consultant to the FBI on organized crime and terrorism. Since then, he has become an award-winning investigative journalist and written several books. In his new book, "The Al Qaeda Connection," he claims Osama bin Laden has obtained nuclear weapons and smuggled them into the U.S. through Mexico for use in a plot known as "American Hiroshima."

I didn't see this posted anywhere. Williams definitely puts an alarming face on the possibility of a nuclear attack on America.

If al Qaeda had nukes in the U.S., they'd have used 'em already. Those things don't have an indefinite shelf life, and they are not trivial to lug around.

This guy's just trying to make a name for himself while riding the FUD* wave.

This is so old...this "alarm" has been going off since 911. Williams is a fearmonger and making a bundle off of it...helped by his fearmongering cohort joeseph farah.

We have hashed this out over and over again on FR.....all we can do is wait and see. If it is true and 40 nukes go off in strategic places...then we are all in one big heap of doo doo....since I cannot do anything about that...I will cross that bridge if and when it comes my way.

Doomsayers are a big drag and almost never right.

Exactly. After New Orleans went under, and our disaster response capability was being criticized as woefully inadequate -- wouldn't that have been a good time to vaporize a city on one of the coasts?

This country was off-balance with Katrina. It was a perfect time for a nuke attack, because we would have been spread so thin domestically. But the attack didn't come. Ergo, the terrorists don't have nukes in the US.

Is this the stuttering guy that was on Coast to Coast last night? I fell asleep (thank goodness) before they started blaming George Bush for planning to nuke us! That's the usual progression of things on that crappy radio show night after night.

No, that was the press.
All our disaster-response
mechanisms were

gearing up just then.
If there had been a nuke strike
all those resources

could have been routed
to where ever they could help.
Terrorists might hit

when people believe
things are getting to normal
and start standing down . . .

This man cites Hans Blix as a source of "intelligence"? Hans Blix couldn't find his butt with both hands.

And as for nukes in the US, Hell, if they were here, the OBL boys would 've lit them off by now. After all, if they were here in America, the nukes that is, why wait to use them?

I thought that Noory was going to shut down the program when Williams got into an argument with a Muslim caller.

Just for Practice Sarcasm Torpedo ARMED. FIRE!!

Choose one (1) of the following rejoinders:

a. Didn't you hear? They had a suitcase nuke until
Michael Moore ate it.

b. Didn't you know? They were busy smuggling it in
through New Orleans in bales of cocaine when Katrina
hit. That's why there was so much gunfire at
rescuers, so the gangstas helping the Moose-limbs
could recover the bomb.

c. Al Qaeda had a change of heart and used their nukes to try to disrupt Hurricane Katrina.

d. Didn't you know? That's what Dick Cheney and
Halliburton used to blow up the levees in New
Orleans!

Cheers!

We would not be asking the FBI for volunteers to go after pornographers if we had suitcase nukes floating around the country. I think the idea is paranoia disguised as "investigative journalism" just to sell books.
