FOB WARRIOR, Iraq—Iraqi police and coalition forces detained 14 individuals suspected to be linked to Islamic terrorist group Ansar Al-Sunnah in Kirkuk Sept. 23.
The Ansar Al-Sunnah organization has claimed responsibility for many of the area’s terrorist acts against Iraqi civilians and Iraqi and coalition security forces, including suicide bomb and improvised explosive device attacks. The early-morning raid was targeted at several houses in the southern Kirkuk neighborhood known as Al Rashid.
“The first report from Kirkuk citizens was that an Ansar Al-Sunnah cell was operating in the sector with a possibility of about four detainees,” said Capt. Paul White, commander of the coalition unit involved in capture. “After raiding the last house coalition forces and Iraqi police ended up with a total of 14 detainees.”
According to reports, Items seized at the location included Saddam paraphernalia consisting of newspapers, CD’s, AK-47 rifles, license plates, cell phones and terrorist propaganda.
Working with Iraqi security forces to track down and detain suspected terrorists is part of the 116th BCT’s mission while deployed in north central Iraq. The unit’s mission also includes assisting Iraq’s new government, supporting economic development and facilitating communications.
The 116th BCT is comprised of headquarters and staff sections, two armor battalions, a mechanized infantry battalion, a support battalion, a field artillery battalion, an engineer battalion, and various intelligence, signal, and specialized units. The 116th BCT is one of several Army National Guard units deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III.

I wonder why there is a poster of Al Sadr within the captured items, while this terrorist group is a Sunni dominated group. Well, that tells much about influence from Iran toward Ansar Al Sunna, I think.

Interesting question. Especially if you look at the pictures and posters of that captured group. That is Moktada Sadar and his father, meaning it is proof that Sadar is participating in overt terrorist activities and ties him to Ansar Al-Sunnah!!!

Ansar al Sunnah Army Claims Execution of Female Member of Ninevah Governing Council in Iraq
This morning, the Ansar al Sunnah Army issued a communiqué claiming the murder of a female member of the Ninevah Governing Council in a drive-by shooting in Mosul.
The posting, made on several Arabic language jihadi boards, was accompanied by copies of several ID’s belonging to the victim.
The victim, identified as Nafi'a Nafeh Aziz, who was born in 1956. She was also a member of the Ninevah Human Rights Council.
The group displayed a weapons permit that allowed Ms. Aziz to carry an AK-47 and Glock pistol.
The posting also included copies of her badge issued by Camp Courage.

Where are the human rights when they hide you in their prisons and where for months more than 200 Muslims are held in a room with no place to even sit down? Where are the humans rights when they torture and kill the Muslims, who are tortured by executioners, and their bodies thrown outdoors. Allah above said: If thou couldst but see when they are confronted with their Lord! He will say: "Is not this the truth?" They will say: "Yea, by our Lord!" He will say: "Taste ye then the penalty, because ye rejected Faith." Surah: The Cattle, Verse 30.

You know that Sadar and his followers are the ones causing the problems for the Brits down in Basra. They are slowly being pushed toward the borders. Them popping up in the north in collusion with Al Sunnah is incredible. Al Sunnah is a Sunni group and as you know Sadar is Shiia (with backing from Iran). Very interesting!
Among the conclave’s key backers was Ahmed Huber, a Swiss-German convert to Islam who traveled back and forth to Beirut to promote the event. This is the same Huber who is a primary supporter of the NPD, the German neo-Nazi party that sent 4,000 of its members marching through Berlin’s historic Jewish neighborhood on a recent Sabbath.
It takes money, clout and coordination to get 4,000 people to march anywhere, and clearly, people like Huber have got all three. And his contacts stretch beyond Europe and the Middle East. In a recent televised interview, Huber spoke of his many lectures in the United States and boasted that because of his strong ties to American Islamic groups, he was given advance warning that something big was going to happen here -- well before 9/11.

Nada Management Organization - the Nada Management Organization was blocked on suspicion that the firm had possible links to the September 11 attacks. No details were given about the amounts frozen or the banks concerned. The move comes after the United States asked Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein and the Bahamas to block all assets belonging to the Nada Management Organization, which was previously known as al-Taqwa. Two of the company’s bosses were detained by police for questioning in Lugano on Wednesday, as part of a coordinated operation by Switzerland, Italy and Liechtenstein.
Youssef Mustafa Nada and Ali Ghaleb Himmat were taken into custody after Italian police raided their homes on Wednesday in Campione D’Italia, a tiny Italian enclave in Switzerland, surrounded by canton Ticino. They were later released. Another Nada official, Ahmed Huber, was questioned about al-Taqwa’s activities by Swiss officials in Bern before being released. The Swiss federal prosecutor, Valentin Roschacher, said the investigation was likely to take several months. “We now have enough information to open an inquiry. We seized a lot of documentation on Wednesday, some of which is in Arabic, and it will take a long time to follow the paper trail.â€
The US authorities say al-Taqwa is one of several informal cash exchanges - known as “hawalas†- which funnel millions of dollars to terrorists outside the traditional banking system.
Investigators suspect that hawalas also help terrorists acquire material and supplies by acting as front organisations. They believe bin Laden has made use of them to acquire and distribute funds.

Nada Management, founded in 1987 under the name al-Taqwa, is one of the world’s largest financial institutions dedicated to Muslim clients and Islamic business activities. One elemental service these groups provide is the hawala exchange system, by which small amounts of money - usually less than $1,000 - are transferred to other hawala agencies around the world. A sum of money or valuable can be brought to a hawala agency in Europe, for example, where a phone call to a network office in the Middle East or Asia will free up a corresponding amount at the desired destination.
The transaction is almost immediate, based entirely on trust and requires no certification that might leave a paper trail. Western antiterror experts suspect such unregulated transactions allow millions of dollars to be funneled to Islamist groups engaged in terror.
