You know nothing of the Texas political situation in 1988, apparently. The Republican Party barely existed. Everyone who was anyone was a Democrat. There was a split in the wings of the Democrat Party bigtime, but if you wanted to be at ALL relevant, you were a Democrat.

Almost none of those conservative Texas Democrats remain in the party. She was part of the party that exists no more. A Zell Miller Democrat, only Zell was unwilling to shed his party label.

A radical Democrat is a horrible mischaracterization.

Even if everyone in Texas voted for Dukakis ( they didn't, Bush 41 actually carried Texas ), I'm sure there were a few Texans who didn't contribute to the DNC five days before the election.

Actually it makes for a more profound contrast. She once was lost, but now she's found. I could give a rat's behind if she was once a radical liberal Democrat. But it matters a great deal if she understands the inherent moral turptitude involved with "safe, legal abortion." Guilt by association is a poor argument both logically and legally.
