Talk about a fantasy delusion. The Dems know darn well GW would push it through no matter what his conservative base said. So if Harriet is truly the strict-constructionist that he claims she is they would knowingly be screwing themselves...

This isn't about the Democrats blocking the president's nominations. This is all about Hillary, and her winning in '08 by splitting the R vote. She couldn't care less about the court. From now until '08 you'll hear very little from Democrats sceaming like leftists. The propaganda instead will be about splitting the R base, saying that the R's aren't conservative enough. The Democrats will kiss-off on everything that the R's do.

Do you actually think that Schumer thinks that the Evangelical Christian, anti-abortion Mier is sliced bread?

GMaFB. Tell me honestly -- with a straight face -- if you think that.

As for Republican dissatisfaction with GW and the rest of the GOP leadership it's irrefutably 99% self-inflicted by GW/GOP spinelessness.

So you are dissatisfied now but you weren't during Bushs' first term and you weren't during Reagan's two terms. Spending as a percentage of GDP was higher during Reagan's two terms and Regan's amnesty plan that he signed into law was worse than Bushs proposal.

Tell me with a straight face that you are more dissatified now.

You a naive and easily lead...

"The propaganda instead will be about splitting the R base, saying that the R's aren't conservative enough. The Democrats will kiss-off on everything that the R's do."

Non-sense. The Dems kiss-off on only the appeasement stuff GW and/or the GOP leadership brings to them hoping to score brownie points. Half the time they criticize him it's because the appeasement was too small and they're hoping to squeeze more out of him. You've chosen to blind yourself to the self-inflicted damage by GOP "moderates" and RINOs that have infected the Republican Party with the cancer of liberalism.

"Do you actually think that Schumer thinks that the Evangelical Christian, anti-abortion Mier is sliced bread?"

Schumer knows the other candidates are better qualified with track records that make him feel fear. So him and other Dems have jumped at the chance at seeing them denied a spot on the SCOTUS in favor of someone they believe has a better chance of being turned.

"So you are dissatisfied now but you weren't during Bushs' first term and you weren't during Reagan's two terms."

Never said I was satisfied with Bush's first term. I was MORE satisfied than with his 2nd term, but even then there were many disappointing moments.

"Spending as a percentage of GDP was higher during Reagan's two terms...."

Reagan's military build-up needs were considerably greater than Bush's (just compare the percentage of GDP going into defense). Personally I think a better and more honest comparison is between how much $ is spent vs. how much tax $ is coming in.

"...and Regan's amnesty plan that he signed into law was worse than Bushs proposal."

And it was the only one ever done before. And the results solidly proved the never-ending, and illegal-immigration encouraging, worthlessness of amnesty programs in all their forms. He should know better so YES I'm more dissatisfied with a man who seems to have severe difficulties in learning from the mistakes of the past..AND THAT IS WITH A STRAIGHT FACE!
