Harriet Miers
How... appropriate
And you believe CNN?
Wow.
Bush never made any claims to Reaganite status, nor did he ever promise to implement any Reagan-like policies. He's been completely honest in his campaigns: he did what he said in the 2000 campaign, and he's doing what he said in the 2004 campaign.
The Constitution Party? No way. Americans want to win the war on terror, for starters.
"This is cowering to the left... despicable. So much for judges in the ...in the Scalia/Thomas mold!"
The President may be doing a "rope-a-dope" with this "supposed" nominee.
Like he let's the Dimocrats fire their scuds, lets the word cautiously slip out that he won't be terribly upset should she not make confirmation, and then throw a "Robert Bork" like nominee at them for the kill.
Anything is possible, though I admit, not probable, and no, I won't bet on it. ;)
I'm disappointed in Bush's choice. I was hoping for an "in-your-face" unabashed conservative, but it looks like the President has opted for a "stealthy" candidate that we, the dems and the MSM know little about. Not a good start to the week.
Hoping this a false leak, like the last appointment when the media told us it was the woman judge from Louisana.
"At 8:15 am the President is going to announce he will officially switch to the Democrat Party"
LOL and crying out loud!
She did donate to Dems.
She is a pro-abort.
Bush has failed again.
He is a failed President.
You know, when Roberts was nominated noone knew he was the choice. Everyone kept floating the 2 Edith's as being one of the choices and then gasped when someone different was named. Maybe, just maybe Meirs name is being floated, the media runs with it and then Bush will come out and name someone else. I think he enjoys seeing them run news with rumor.
I don't know if Miers will be the appointee or not and unlike most on this thread, I don't know enough about her yet to jump to any conclusions, but I will remind everyone here that the same outfits that reported that Edith Clement was the President's last pick to the SC is now reporting the same about Miers.
Let's wait and see.
That's ok. He doesn't need you. Second term. Too bad these nominations didn't come up in his first term. We'd have had some leverage. Now we have nothing.
What does that matter, SHE IS NOT PRO-LIFE!!
"Conservatism is officially dead in Washington DC."
No,not quite.Mike Pence and forty house conservatives are fighting the good fight!
My disgust with Bush rises each week.
He will go down as a failed President.
I will not support any more Bushes for high office.
One should attempt to understand that "law firm" pressure to donate to both parties can be a career decision..
They're already reading excerpts from his speech.
This is not a false leak.
In the White House that hero worshipped the president, Miers was distinguished by the intensity of her zeal: She once told me that the president was the most brilliant man she had ever met.

I just read the FoxNews article about her. One would think the feminists would fall head over heels to support Miers. She's a perfect example of what they want- a career oriented power woman who didn't let herself get held back by outdated and patristic shackles such as "family" and "children".
