"The White Sox will beat the Yank-offs..."

I forget...where are the Metropolitans these days??

Oh that's right -- slamming their ham in front of ESPN.

ITMT, Piazza is in the FOX booth donning more make-up than a drag queen, while ex-Met Al Leiter is pitching for an actual playoff team -- THE YANKEES.

"What was un-believable is El Duque shutting you down w/bags loaded and NO ONE OUT"

C'mon. You been watching the season? El Duce can fall apart at the worst possible times. Thank God, this wasn't one of them.

But who cares?
Sox Win!!

Speaking as one who spent two years living on the South Side, getting to know many Sox fans in the process, let's just say that they will make the Yank-offs their BI-CH, even in that GHETTO SH-THOLE stadium in da Bronx.

Do you think we can get Steve Dahl to host a "Yank-Off Demolition Night" compete with a bonfire, at Comiskey?

Oh well, we had a good run with our Red Sox. Let's hope Theo and the front office does a good job retooling the team for next year. In the meantime, see you on the other playoff threads?

I have fond memories of sitting in the upper deck at Comiskey, as the guy next to me, missing his front tooth, offerred to share the bottle of Jameson's he snuck in with me. I told him that I preferred JD. ;-)

The contrast between fans at Wrigley (family oriented) and those at Comiskey (red noses and attitudes) is incredible.

Angels have a good team, although I still think that the Spawn of Satan will get by them.

Cabrera is better defensively but he's not as good as rEntEria. Pedro was a divisive force in the club house who could no longer beat the Yankees and couldn't be trusted with pitch #101 and beyond.

This team had no depth in the minors which meant that the starters played more innings than needed. The pen sucked and they never really had a #1 guy. This team looked worn out when the season ended.

He's had many good outings against us in the past.

when a pitcher can throw strikes the RS become a rather average team at the plate.

Speaking of Dahl...he has a post somewhere online about a rookie, '85 or so, Guillen being interviewed with a new-fangled "wireless" mike---no wire attached...'85 or so. They were live on Dahl's radio show, no 5-second delay, and Ozzie thought he was being set-up (what the hell's "wireless?". For the next ten seconds, all he said was "F**k, F**k, F**k." It was broadcast live.

If you talk to newscasters today, they'll tell you that you better have the 5-second delay, even today, going when you talk to Ozzie...even today.

Family-oriented? Attitudes? When was this...1920?

Puh-lease.

I'm sure the 15 or so wins Pedro would have gleaned this year would have easily given them the Division and home field through most of the playoffs. I liked the chemistry Cabrera brought to the team and he came up big against the yanks the other night. The guys a winner

The team was worn out because they could have a 9-3 lead and know it wasn't safe.
