Did you read the post from someone that talked to his aunt from Tulsa -- they were there and is where I found out about the buses and then described for someone where they are parked.

My son is headed for campus this morning and waiting for him to check in if he hears anything. I have talked to several others this morning that were there and all we know are what we have heard from people that saw the incident or talked to OU or Norman police. The Feds are lead in the investigation from what I am hearing and there is very little info coming out.

The one thing I knew all along was this was no pipe bomb -- this was a deep sound that made you say bomb immediately and then we get no news via local media until the 4th quarter. I think there was a blackout initially not to cause panic and it worked. Everyone left the stadium pretty normally even after the announcement that you couldn't exit the westside and had to go north of the library or south of Lindsey to get to the Elm street area and west where a lot of people park including yours truly.

Where do you sit? We sit on the NE side and no one could use our cell phones after the blast. My kids always text message out and they kept getting circuits are busy. In the 4th quarter we all got a bunch of messages when our phones started beeping. I have t-mobile and so did the people around me.

Someone just posted they could use their cellphone -- no one around us could which is weird. Maybe we should switch from t-mobile.

"The fact that the MSM isn't saying anything should ***[NOT]*** be taken as proof that nothing happened."

(Note to self: Proofread, idiot!)

I'm guessing that within seconds after the blast the cell ciruits were overloaded.

Those little notes again:). At least you proofread most of the time. I make so many mistakes, it isn't even funny. I was pointing out a mistake one time and said "me writing" instead of "my writing." The guy wrote back and said, "That you Popeye?" I laughed pretty hard.

"Would be no need to create a panic."

Kind of a "you can't handle the truth" sort of moment.

My cell phone worked just fine as did everyone else's around us. We were calling home and others in the stadium throughout the game after the explosion.

What does your gut tell you right now? Was this a plan to blow up buses with people or crowds of people after the game?

Thanks for the info. I am glad to hear from someone else at the game because it is real information..

As far as the cell phones, I was going from something PKM was talking about yesterday. If they were not jammed...I'm actually a little disappointed...because I like to think people are on top of this.

But I'm open to new facts. And I do think that Boren is being very careful. My larger points are just that you can not assume conspiracy from silence, and we can not berate the press when they are overly hysterical, then berate them when they are not.

INO...I'm just not a tinfoil hat type in general, especially this close to the event.

Thanx for the thread.I'm simply amazed that at the dearth of msm coverage. This should be BIG news. What do we know so far,and correct me if i'm wrong.Someone blew himself up with a large bomb outside a packed stadium. Most likely not a pipe bomb. Two individuals who may have been involved were seen running away from the blast, and into the stadium.I've heard them described as ME males. Is this fact?Another explosion was heard which may have been caused by LE bomb disposal?Multiple bombs/a suicide?More than one person involved? An attempted terrorist attack is very possible.

I hear you...all cell coms should have been shut down immediately.

I often wonder why they don't have a computer randomly call cell phones in Iraq so as to set any devices off prematurely.

Maybe we should switch from t-mobile.

I just switched from T-Mobile yesterday! 8^)

Verizon works better for me.

Stay safe!

"The DC snipers were the same..."I agree.Have you seen the collection of artwork by Malvo? He is a big fan of OBL,but very little(if any)coverage re this fact by the msm.Why keep us in the dark?Maybe the media feel we can't handle the truth?

From the CNN article: (http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/10/01/oklahoma.explosion.ap/index.html)

Jaclyn Hull, an OU freshman who left the game shortly before the explosion, said she saw "a little bit of smoke, about as much as you would see coming up from a grill."

Interesting.

Is there anything say we don't? We seem to be gaining on them.

Don't look for truth here. KFOR is owned by the New York Times.

I agree with your assessment, overall. But since when does the MSM cooperate with national security issues? I think what we have is a convergence of interests. On one hand, some news outlets are practicing self discipline in the interest of patriotism and helping law enforcement. On the other hand, an incident like this wouldn't play well with the PC, religion of peace mentality of our domestic, homegrown enemies- the ones whose ultimate goal is harm to the US, who see Islamists as their defacto allies.

On top of all that, it surprises me as a libertarian that the ratings market doesn't trump both of these goals. Perhaps they've feasted at the trough of natural disasters enough lately.
