From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Authorities were calling the death a suicide.

This line strikes me as pretty weasel-worded. "Authorities" could be the police, or university officials, or the FBI, or who knows? In other words, the word is as vague as possible.

"Calling": In other words, that's their story, take it or leave it.

"Suicide": Could be just a suicide, or could be a suicide bomber who blew himself up prematurely.

It strikes me that normally no one commits suicide, that is, non-terrorist suicide, by blowing himself up with a bomb. It's a lot of trouble, and it's a very peculiar way to do it. I'm inclined to go with the conspiracy theorists on this one, unless we get some convincing details to the contrary.

I am sure it was a mooselim student...got the idea from the Bali bombers...

But a trained cell would blend into the crowd exiting the game to do their extensive damage.

"Hmm, who would build a pipe bomb just for their suicide ? Sounds a bit odd."

Someone who's stuck on himself. An arrogant terrorist.

Wonder if there any "surprises" planned for the big Texas/OU game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas next weekend? There is a huge crowd because the game is played during and sits in the middle of the Texas State Fair. Imagine there's all kinds of discussions going on!

I thought it might be the Ruf-Neks' boomers, too.

I was purposely not listening to tonight's game, because I'm a jinx to my team. I wanted us to beat K-State. I missed the whole thing. I was checking OUr Rivals forum and found out about this. They just went on with the game like nothing happened. I'm flabbergasted -- and want to know the truth.

Well, at least we won big. See? My anti-jinx worked, at least for the team--not for the suicide bomber.

This story is not being embargoed, it is being written pretty much from whole cloth. The OKC bombing was a big cover-up. The Secret LIfe of Bill Clinton which is a book written by a Brit which gives some detail to that. There was a poster here on FR who documented much of that cover-up with a handle of OKC submariner or something like that.

""We are apparently dealing with an individual suicide, which is under full investigation," OU President David Boren said in a statement."

"About 9 p.m. a police bomb squad detonated explosives found at the site of the blast."

Maybe, he was on his way to a group suicide. Clearly they don't want to say the truth at this point. Nobody commits suicide by blowing themselves up in this country. They jump off buildings, hang thmselves, shoot themselves, slash their wrists, take overdoses, look at Rosanne Bar in the nude pics, but they don't blow themselves up.

Foxnews.com has pulled the yyellow "breaking news" banner, and the story is totally gone from the website as far as I can see.

A dilemma arises. Do you contain all the people at the football game and begin testing them for possible biochemical exposure with delayed effects as in biological warfare or do you disperse the obvious massing of people from a potential attack which hasn't yet culminated or do you treat it as an isolated event,..nothing to see here, move along? Probably wouldn't hurt to disperse and voluntary quanrantine for several days and catch up on homework.

You know.... it makes sense that the bomber didn't make it into the stadium. He could have bought a ticket outside okay... but they check backpacks etc pretty tight when you try to enter the stadium. (they're really checking for bottled water etc so that they can make you buy a 3$ bottle of water... but they do look in every back etc)

See Saudi Prince Buys Large Share of Fox News

This "prince" is the same guy who was snubbed by Guiliani. He donated $10 million to NYC after 9/11 and then qualified it with a "It's America's fault" remark.

And it's my experience some things repeated here turn out to be 100% false.

Look, if I was confirmed in the thinking this was a person unaffiliated to any domestic or international terrorist group, if I was certain it was an isolated suicide by a troubled man or woman, I would not follow the thread.

Obviously, I have not ruled it out.

What I reject is jumping to any conclusions. Including that it necessarily be Al Quida. It's not as though we don't have out own inbred terrorists unaffiliated to Islam as well.

After being on numerous threads where rumors were spread without confirmed evidence, and watching an irresponsible newsmedia, I'm not in the mood to participate in another such thread.

I'll accept only confirmed evidence and nothing more.
