"Just a touch of competent research would have produced an entirely different article."
Well yes, John, yes that would have. But it wouldn't accomplish the leftist goal of smearing any and all things Conservative! ;)

The reporter and her editor are apparently unaware that there's a tradition in English literature of using harsh examples to make a valid point. Jonathan Swift did that in his tract, "A Modest Proposal." He wrote that the poor Irish could benefit by fattening up their children to be killed and eaten by the English. No one took Swift as actually suggesting that this should be done."
I am, I did, and they should have!
Seriously ... great read. ;)

..describing his statement as the latest in a long trail of public comments by white conservatives unfairly linking blacks to crime and sexuality...
-----
Unfairly? Again THE FACTS ARE IGNORED. The anti-reality left continues is battle against reality and the facts about what and who they are.
It is all WHITEY'S FAULT that our jails are full of them. Right??

I think the 24-7 coverage of the New Orleans looters (almost all black) , including video footage of very poorly behaved, incoherent individuals, is going to have a widespread impact on perceptions of race issues for those who have tended to have knee-jerk support for liberal views on the topic.
Instead of a reflexive attack on anyone suggesting blacks commit more crime per capita than other groups, some people will now see the NOLA looter footage in their mind and stay quiet, if nothing else.
It is ironic CNN did so much to undermine one of their pet causes.

Thank you for a good post.

"Fat, drunk and stupid"?
Ted Kennedy article ALERT!!
To: Congressman Billybob
I'm not planning on defending or being critical of Bennett's statement but doesn't it appear to anyone other than me that it was a rather ill-advised example to pull out of a hat simply because it was so prone to be misinterpreted, taken out of context and thus become fodder for his detractors? It almost appears that Bill was looking for trouble.

Baltimore Sun: "Fat, drunk and stupid"?Sen. Edward "Swimmer" (HIC!) Kennedy ('RAT-MA)???
No, Bill Bennett, using his comments "out of context", Business as usual for the lazy LMSM.
