Authority without responsibility is a dangerous mix. Yes, mistakes happen but I would guess this is more prevalent than they are letting on. There is no specific number given that makes me naturally suspicious.

There needs to be some sort of accountability if this action is allowed at all. The Patriot Act is one of the worst pieces of legislation ever introduced in the U.S. IMHO. So many parts are so obviously unconstitutional it's pathetic - but not many "average Americans" can get past the "it's for our safety" idea...
