Iranian TV Shows Cartoon on Palestinian Victory Over Israel
Vision of the Islamic Republic of Iran Network 1
Friday, October 28, 2005 T14:29:05Z
Tehran Vision of the Islamic Republic of Iran Network 1 in Persian at 1120 GMT on 28 October broadcasts a 10-minute cartoon, aimed at children, called "hand grenade." The animation depicts the Palestinian struggle and its eventual victory over Israeli aggression.
The cartoon shows Israeli soldiers attacking Palestinian civilians. We see Palestinians saying prayers at mosques, children at school, mothers doing house choirs and Arabs sitting in coffee houses. Suddenly, Israeli soldiers arrive with tanks and machine guns, and start killing and arresting a number of Palestinians. Terrified Palestinian children are shown fighting back with rocks.
Seeing a hand gerande on the belt of an Israeli soldier, an unsuspecting Palestinian boy thinks a hand gerande is an aubergine. The boy and his friends, then, pick up a basket full of aubergines and throw them at the Israelis. They give chase to the Israeli soldiers while throwing aubergines at them. The Israeli soldiers eventually surrender and leave the Palestinian lands.

An Argentine prosecutor on Thursday asked a judge to issue arrest
warrants for 295 people who allegedly played a role in the clandestine
imprisonment, torture and summary execution of suspected leftists at
the Navy Mechanics School during the 1970s dictatorship. The naval
academy on the capital's outskirts was the biggest and most notorious of
the 1976-83 regime's unofficial prisons where thousands perished.
Prosecutor Eduardo Raul Taiano submitted the request to Judge Sergio
Torres, investigating magistrate in the case of the ESMA, as the school is
known.

alleged money laundering and counterfeiting of U.S. dollars, an
American Treasury Department official said Friday. Stuart Levey, the
Treasury's top officer for terrorism and financial crimes, didn't say
whether Beijing had made any concrete commitments. Yet China's
support could be crucial for U.S. efforts to isolate and block alleged
illegal financial activity by North Korea that is believed to aid its
production and export of weapons of mass destruction.
