The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Which county in Baltimore is this?

Prince George's? <<<

The only sound in this house when I read that was:

OHHHH! out loud.

So we are back to London and Oklahoma.

Even arrests of 30 are not enough to clean out the nest of
terror.

Interesting that the market sold International money orders,
that would be why we saw the photo, a place to send money to al qaeda?

Check this article to see how Reuters tries to downplay this threat. They didn't succeed as this statement was in the Reuters article:

At a news conference in Baltimore, FBI Special Agent Kevin Perkins said while the information was "somewhat specific as to date and time ... no evidence collected to date has corroborated the threat as it's going on." (snip)

He also said closing the tunnel was "just one aspect" of the investigation and said there was

***"an awful lot of other things ongoing,"***

(emphasis added)

but he declined to be more specific.

I'm sure they'll all be released tomorrow and that there is no connection to terrorism whatsoever.

I don't think it goes back as far as the Twexus site photos.

I feel like it was within the last 2 or 3 months.

Security Passes Pulled in Threat Leak Probe
AP ^ | 10/18/5 | DEVLIN BARRETT

Posted on 10/18/2005 3:06:19 PM PDT by SmithL

WASHINGTON -- Security clearances were taken away from two
federal anti-terrorism employees as investigators look into allegations
they warned family and friends about the threat against the New York
City subway system three days ahead of the official announcement.

The workers were identified after government security officials began
looking into the source for e-mails alluding to the threat that began
circulating before New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg went public
Oct. 6. Security in the transit network was ramped up based on an
overseas informant's claim there was a plot to bomb the system.

The e-mails apparently started with a relative of one worker and a
friend of another, who passed on information warning against using
the subway system, according to two federal officials familiar with the
Homeland Security Department investigation.

The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity because the
probe is ongoing, said the two federal employees who lost their
security clearances were one employee of the Coast Guard and a
former Coast Guard captain who now works for the Transportation
Security Administration.

Baltimore Terror Threat Lifted

Informant: Bomb Plot in Progress

An informant told authorities late last week that a plot was in progress to blow up one of the tunnels under Baltimore's harbor, ABC News has learned.

According to the informant, who is in detention overseas, at least six Egyptian terrorists were going to receive bomb materials that would arrive by ship at Baltimore's harbor in a container marked "Cocoa." The informant said the terrorists would then use the material to assemble explosive devices, which would be planted in cars as part of a plot to bomb one or both of the tunnels....... read more

Back In The USSR? (Russian Proliferation)
Investor's Business Daily ^ | October 18, 2005 | The Editors

Posted on 10/18/2005 3:33:39 PM PDT by RWR8189

Arms Proliferation: Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, who recently visited Iran,
reportedly is seeking nuclear weapons. Will they come from Russia with love?

Maybe — if Russia continues to run a weapons bazaar where rogue
nations are given special-shopper privileges.

Already, it appears Russia has acted as a broker by greasing the way
for North Korea to transfer technology that will let Iran build missiles
with a 2,200-mile reach. That puts several European capitals,
including Athens, Rome and Berlin, within Tehran's range.

Russia also is supporting Iran's "nuclear power" program, having sold
it a reactor. Which is to say Russia supports Iran's nuclear-weapons
program.

All this is ominous enough. But compounding matters would be
Russia's support, either directly or through Tehran, of the nuclear
ambitions of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. In fact, it's an all-too-realistic
possibility that a weapons-trade relationship has already been
established. According to the White House, Venezuela has begun to
take delivery of 100,000 Russian-made AK47s.

Given Chavez's thick-as-thieves relationship with Fidel Castro, we
could someday find Cuba again pointing nuclear missiles our way.
That's not idle speculation. Castro and the mullahs have long,
documented ties on energy cooperation that are just beginning to get
congressional scrutiny. We've already lived through one Cuban missile
crisis. Those of us old enough to remember don't need another.

Imagine a world in which radical mullahs in Iran, a malevolent tyrant
in Venezuela

I can't help but have a bad feeling about the Middle Eastern grocery market just down the street from the storefront "masjid" that I drive by every week. The neighborhood looks like Fallujah after the troops finished with it, and I just know something bad is going to come out of there.

Oh, dear,

When I said add peppers to your diet, I did not mean you should "sniff" them.

You "sniff" essential oil, not peppers, try eating them, good for you.

I do hope that you are female, if so be very careful with the peppers juice, it burns forever.

I am teasing you......or attempting to do so....LOL
