The condo associations and landlords in S. Florida, apparently many of them, had no plan. I'd hate to be a senior in a high rise with no way out except long flights of stairs. As for the healthy people, there's no reason they didn't get their own supplies pre-Wilma including gas. There was no gas shortage prior to Wilma.

Hopefully, it won't rain because some folks who live in high rises have no windows or roof and are hoping the rain holds off.

Jeb is from South Florida. As governor, why wasn't he aware that his part of the state was not in sync with the rest of us who prepare every single time?

Have a nice Sunday. FV

WILMA: No gas shortage in S. Florida either. There was a shortage of electricity to run the gas pumps. Gas is now running $2.41 a gal at some Tampa Bay stations.

No windows or roof? I hope the rain holds off. How come people haven't been evicted from the damaged high rises?

I wouldn't hold Jeb responsible for hurricane damage. Florida is much more prepared than Louisiana apparently was. I would think that elderly and disabled residents would be housed on the lower floors, and not up high. That's idiotic.

We're all sitting around waiting for a big earthquake out here. There have been quite a few small ones in the last couple of months. Sometimes, you just can't be totally prepared in the event of a natural disaster. The best thing to do is be neighborly, and check on people next door, etc.

Hope you had a nice Sunday : )
