The administration of President George W. Bush broke the law as it resorted to illegal "covert propaganda" in trying to sell its key education initiative to the public, US congressional investigators have found.
The finding, made public by the Government Accountability Office added to a plethora of big and small ethics scandals besetting the administration and its top Republican allies and putting them on the defensive one year before congressional elections.
The investigation was ordered by Democratic Senators Edward Kennedy and Frank Lautenberg earlier this year, in the wake of reports the Education Department had paid newspaper columnist and television commentator Armstrong Williams thousands of dollars to help promote the No Child Left Behind Law.

Sorry, I'm still learning and on my first cup of coffee...good point. Thanks.
OK thanks. So it's a melding. I thought it was more of a transition from 'incompetent' to 'corrupt'. The libs may have difficulty remembering TWO talking points.
Let me get this straight. We are battling a war against terrorists. Our borders are porous, and Senators Boozer and La-La are worried about an administration's marketing plan. That's just great.
You mean its not satire from scrappleface? LOL.
Aaah yes! The old covert propoganda routine * * * order a sausage pizza tonight * * * works almost every time * * * order a sausage pizza tonight * * *, especially in the feeble minds of liberals and French journalists* * * order a sausage pizza tonight * * *
Yep, they settle for standardized testing, probably hoping that would lead to vouchers.
The rest of the sentence should read:
...so they can immediately spend it on pork barrel projects to garner political votes from their constituents.
You are quoting French Media? Why waste our time?

This paragraph is the definition of bias if there ever was to be one.
Frank Lautenberg ? Frank Lautenberg ? The KING of scandle ? He has to be joking ..Almost spit out my coffee. Lautenberg is one step away from being a professional con artist/gangster.Someday read about his history here in NJ. BEYOND belief corruption on his part.
Don't forget the source of this story...

I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out- the fact that Yahoo served it on a silver platter.
Don't insult our intelligence, We "new" what you meant! LOL
"The investigation was ordered by Democratic Senators Edward Kennedy and Frank Lautenberg earlier this year..."
Z-Z-Z-Z-Z. Does this mean Bush can't run in '08?
"In statements that followed the GAO report, Senator Kennedy and Lautenberg demanded the misused money be returned to the government."
Only if Kennedy's Boston returns the billions for the "Big Hole" project.

This is a valid story.
Aggravating though, the Bush Administration gets pinged for spinning, and the left doesn't. Oh well, what's new?
And what may I ask is the Lame Stream Media, other than a "covert propaganda" outlet of the American Democratic Party, liberals, the left and Marxists???
Yet our country club Republicans say nothing of this truth in public, and since they respect the Constitution they do not try to outlaw those propoganda outlets.
I do not blame the Bush administration for wanting to get its message heard across the dominant media mantra of the Democrat's talking points. But, they simply should have gotten out more often and on TV more often themselves. Instead of hiring third parties to do it.
