How many Democrats voted against it? 7 in the Senate and a whopping 10 in the House. Tell me again Democrats weren't supporting it. Don't do what you accuse others of.
And I really don't get the point of saying that a majority of democrats voted for it. So what? So did a majority of republicans, who wrote this federalizing abomination, sponsored it, and signed it into law.
Democrats are an afterthought in Washington these days. What gets done is done by republicans, who have the power of the purse and the power to write, pass, sign, and veto legislation (though the veto apparently got lost in a file cabinet somewhere). This means that the pork and the bad laws are laid at the feet of republicans. There is no passing the buck.
I'm deeply discouraged by the barrel rolling, bureaucracy creating, budget busting, central government crowd in Washington passing themselves off as republicans these days. It's as if the brains of these guys have been usurped by 1960's "great society" ghosts.
And I think it's time to flat-out call 'em on it, instead of pretending that they're not doing what they're doing or claiming that what they've done is somebody else's fault.
