Owen is out Sep 30 2005 12:42 PM
By TimChapman
According to a very reliable source close to the White House vetting process for the next nominee, Priscilla Owen has withdrawn her name from the process.
With Owen out, conservatives have lost one of the better women on the short list.
His decision on Casey (yes that Casey) was overturned by SCOTUS. He's that good.
Yet for some strange reason Specter likes him.
And since the Circuit is out of Philly, this could be helpful to Santorum. A few weeks ago traitor Chaffee was quoted as saying "the caucus would do anything for Santorum"
Janice Rogers Brown is still out there.
I love your sense of optimism and trust.
Liberals are very angry at the prospects for the next Bush nominee.
Here is an article about "Scalito"
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/050719/19alito.htm
Bring on Brown then. Let's get it on!
She's not out - she's working for the US in the lower courts which is just as important for those cases that come before her!
Liberals hate the new nominee, they've hated him or her for weeks.
Who is the new nominee?
Hasn't been named yet.
But they hate him/her?
Oh ya.
Oh my I forgot an important part of Cantero's resume.
He is the grandson of overthrown Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista.
Heads would explode in mass at the DNC
The rest of the names supposedly being leaked are the smokescreen just like the last appointment. I doubt we hear before next week, as they do not want to lose control of the news cycle. And I will bet cash money it is someone that hasn't really been discussed. And I dont think it will be Gonzalez, either.
Cantero would certainly raise the ire of the Dem nutcases. He's the grandson of former Cuban dictator, Battista. You know how they love guilt by association.
How do you get that from the fact that Judge Owen doesn't want another hearing so soon?
ye of little faith.
Batista's grandson? I love it.
Too bad we can't find the son of a Contra leader :)
The fear factors are out in full force.
We have heard the assembly line of good conservative nominees that could fill O'Conner's seat.
I hear about ten names constantly.
Is it so hard to believe that in a country of 300 MILLION that there are more than 10 people reader to make Chuck Schumer miserable.
Ever hear of bait and switch.
Have the libs fixate on a few people, then send them someone of exactly the same mold kept under the radar.
The kind of conservative judge who would have been blasted had their name been broadcast for three or four years.
I'm a conservative.
Does my name need to be in the paper for four years to be the next Clarence Thomas?
Have more faith in Dubya.
Roberts is solid.
I look forward to the next nominee.
Name your source or go to jail! Sorry, wrong story.
Sounds like a Rovian disinformation strategy to me.
