According to a very reliable source close to the White House vetting process for the next nominee, Priscilla Owen has withdrawn her name from the process.
With Owen out, conservatives have lost one of the better women on the short list.
S&*t!
The short list better begin and end with known originalists.
I'm getting more nervous about it being a "moderate" crapolafest.
I can't say I blame her.
The Dems dragged her through the ringer before she finally got confirmed.
No one in their right mind would want to go through that again.
give us Edith Jones.
Luttig is going to be the pick.
Dang, that hurts. More proof if any was needed the process has gone crazy.
Probably for the best even though she would make a great SCJ. The President needs to appoint someone who is willing to slug it out toe-to-toe with the Dems, and that's just what it's going to be, a huge slugfest. They will need the "fire in the belly" to pull it off.
Alito is often called "Scalito" which suggests he'd be more than OK.
More room for Diane Sykes.
Earlier in the week the name Raoul Cantero was being thrown about. He met with Gonzoles last week in Florida. He is a very conservative Cuban-American on the Florida Supreme Court appointed by Jeb. He is only 45.
I still like Luttig, Brown and Jones but as an outside the box candidate this guy is interesting.

"Reliable anonymous source" is leaking something. Maybe accurate information, maybe disinformation, maybe nothing ;-)
Maybe if they hired that hot lady with the heavy bronx accent instead of Maria San Salvador Ecuador Maguire Phillipina Undocumented worker they could go ahead with their careers.
The latest buzz (after a day of "moderate" trial ballons) are too real conservatives Sam "Scalito" Alito and Maura Corrigan from the Michigan Supreme Court.
A conservative cuber would be great
Interesting! Very photogenic family, too. Hard for the dems to cast him as a tyrant.
Uh-Oh!!Bad news.
Looks like Bush is setting up a liberal for O'Connor's seat and we have all been betrayed by the "compassionate" conservative.
