Estimates of the numbers of gays in the priesthood vary from 25 percent to 50 percent. About one-third of the 42,500 U.S. priests are members of religious orders.

OK Scripture declares (and Scripture is the basis for the
Church) Scripture declares such behavior( a man to lay with a man as he would a woman) to be "abomination" worthy of death. The Apostle Paul rightly called such behvior "unnatural" (Romans chapter 1) and says those who take part in such or who take pleasure in those who do such are equally guilty (Romans chapter 1) SOunds like a church is Apostate if it adopts policy contrary to Scripture.

Christ Prophesing about the Church in the last days: Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

How many articles have we read about churches becoming empty in the last year? Matthew 24:10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,

Perhaps it might be time to start getting worried -- Maybe dusting off the bible and reading it might be in order? Matthew 24:32-34 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Some have said clergy are considering staging a strike on a Sunday, to show how critical gay priests are to serving the church.

&&
Perhaps there would not be so many homo priests by percentage if they had not scared off the normal men who had a calling.

When will the Jebbies finally join another denomination such as the Unitarians that is more in line with their theology? They make me sick.

The Jesuits have gone from the shock troops of the counter-reformation to the schock troops of the liberal anti-Biblical bunch.

You better have a good stomach or have eaten a very light lunch before you read it. Some _really_ sick things went on in Philly.

Chojnacki said he would be working with the Conference of Major Superiors, which represents leaders of religious orders in the United States including the Jesuits, Franciscans and others, and with bishops to fight "for the opportunity of a gay person to say yes to God's call in celibate service of priesthood and chaste religious life."

If they're engaged in "celibate service of priesthood and chaste religious life," then why have so many Jesuits died of AIDS? Homosexuality is a man engaging in homosexual relations with other men. Mere thoughts don't do it, actions do. Hence, one can expect the vast majority of homosexual priests to be practicing homosexuals and to present a serious danger to the church, especially when they start urging the altar boys to "celebrate diversity."

However, neither you, nor your fellow Wahabbists, nor Opus Dei, nor the good Sisters of Charity make the rules for that club. God does.

Indeed he does. And the Bible also tells us what we should do if we have a fellow church member that continually lives in sin and corrupts His church as well. The 'Faithful' abided by those letters accordingly. Excise the person from the group and have nothing to do with them. If it means catching them one at a time then so be it.

we would never have found out the depth of the depravity that existed within the bowels of the sacristies and covered up by the various Arch Bishops and Cardinals.

Surely we would have. God's word is clear that He will bring that which is in darkness into the light. And please do not think I'm defending the Catholic church. I specifically stated little c, as in universal, encompassing all Protestant religions.

I wisxh you were right. But a few nights ago on Catholic radio (EWTN), a caller phoned in with a question about how many seminarians are gay and the priest answering questions had to admit to 25-50%. So those are the church's own figures.

Is that true? Does God really love gay people? Maybe he doesn't. Maybe when he calls it an abomination he means, "I don't love you anymore"
On the contrary, It is said (Wisdom 11:25): "Thou lovest all things that are, and hatest none of the things which Thou hast made."

I answer that, God loves all existing things. For all existing things, in so far as they exist, are good, since the existence of a thing is itself a good; and likewise, whatever perfection it possesses. Now it has been shown above (19, 4) that God's will is the cause of all things. It must needs be, therefore, that a thing has existence, or any kind of good, only inasmuch as it is willed by God. To every existing thing, then, God wills some good. Hence, since to love anything is nothing else than to will good to that thing, it is manifest that God loves everything that exists. Yet not as we love. Because since our will is not the cause of the goodness of things, but is moved by it as by its object, our love, whereby we will good to anything, is not the cause of its goodness; but conversely its goodness, whether real or imaginary, calls forth our love, by which we will that it should preserve the good it has, and receive besides the good it has not, and to this end we direct our actions: whereas the love of God infuses and creates goodness. ...

Reply to Objection 4. Nothing prevents one and the same thing being loved under one aspect, while it is hated under another. God loves sinners in so far as they are existing natures; for they have existence and have it from Him. In so far as they are sinners, they have not existence at all, but fall short of it; and this in them is not from God. Hence under this aspect, they are hated by Him.

Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologiae, Prima Pars q. 20 a. 2.

Why do so many of YOU see rules, tradition, integrity, honor, values, and automatically have to try to DESTROY it?

NEWS FLASH: The Church is being destroyed from within, not from without.

Homosexual priests, the agenda they promulgate and the transgressions they and their superiors ignore are surely eroding the foundations upon which the Church was built. They have no regard for any values but their own.

Of what honor, integrity and values do you refer?

Actually the Orthodox are bursting at the seams. I've seen a lot of former Anglicans and Catholics over the past couple of years. That and the fact we tend to have more children then the others, helps a lot.

I suggest you go to my bio page and read the outline I have there from the writings by Antonio Gramsci.

You will see there - in black and white - all laid out simply to follow exactly what is happening in ALL the churches in the USA today - and in the military, schools, politics, etc.

The USA is losing the war, and will be LOST if people like these on FreeRepublic do not open their eyes and see what is staring right back in their faces.

No people ever yet groaned under the heavy yoke of slavery, but when they deserved it. ...The truth is, all might be free if they valued freedom, and defended it as they ought. ...If therefore a people will not be free; if they have not virtue enough to maintain their liberty against a presumptuous invader, they deserve no pity, and are to be treated with contempt and ignominy.

"1.75% of the population is gay. The 10% is disinformation from the fifties that continues to be cited by the gay community."

I live in an area (Austin) where I can't tell who is and who isn't anymore. I just know around here the % is much higher.

Yes, they were gay first, and then priests. They simply betrayed their calling, and those they serve. Noting to do with being Catholic. Being a priest didn't make them gay.

God bless this Pope for his brave confrontation on this politically incorrect issue, I have a feeling he and the Catholic Church will be under a lot of MSM "fire" for this re-affirmation of church teaching. Prediction: Catholic priests may one day be able to marry and have families. Priests marrying is not a part of the church doctrine which cannot be changed, many people do not understand this fact. The MSM and others with an overt liberal agenda would not like that...lots of strong Catholic/Christian families with conservative values and morals are not what they're about.
