I was in Maine in August once. Day time temperatures were never above 70 degrees.

Well, it depends.  This summer, I had to buy an A/C.  We had pretty hot days this summer.  And I am up NORTH!  Hotter even down around Bangor.

In August, I drove the stretch of rte 9 , above Bangor, to Calais.

Luckily I fueled up in Brewer,I didn't realize how remote that area is. It is beautiful country with very few people.

I can't imagine what that stretch of rte 9 is like in the winter. - tom
