abstinance couldn't possibly work could it?

the way the left talks you'd think that pregnancy/abortion was skyrocketing among teens because we're not giving sex demonstrations in class.

Of course abstinence "works," but apparently so does contraception -- exactly as the "left" says it does. The people interviewed for the article cite several factors; abstinence and contraception are both on the list. This may be one of those cases in which everybody has a point.

Researchers don't really know what's making teens more cautious...

Child Support Collection.

Time limits on welfare.

Disability payments that don't require children (to collect).

On a quick skim of the article, it appeared that the authors diligently went out of their way to play down, or even ignore, the effect of welfare reform.

I blame Childhood obesity for this outrageous drop in teenage promiscuity! I mean, who wants to have sex with a fat person anyways????
I suggest a full scale government investigation on this topic. We have to get our kids into shape so that they can get back to having sex!

That's changed, she said. "Now kids say the players are dirty. They don't mean that they're sluts," Gosser added. "It's said with a hygienic implication."

These leftists! God forbid there be a judgement of behavior. My daughter told me recently that there are still sluts. Both boys and girls who are sluts are ignored by the intellegent kids.

Liberals have been aborting their children for the past 30 years... conservatives have not. Any wonder that the kids today are more conservative in certain areas than before?
