Dear fellow Nebraskans; I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Treasurer of the Great State of Nebraska.

I am running because I am a concerned citizen who, like you, is interested in a responsible, efficient state government. I am running because America is the greatest democracy in the world and I believe in giving voters a choice of candidates. I am running because I have the background and experiences to be a great Treasurer.

I had friends that were caught over Vladivostok, they managed to get their acft out of over water. No one survived. The Air Force gave a public statement that they had been "lost" while on a routine training mission. There were no medals for 40 years when the government finally admitted they were in Russian territory.

They were men, they did as their training told them to do.

Personal abuse will get you nowhere on this one. It is indicative of your own character.

Pappa Romeo 26 officially got "hit by lightning" for about 10 years till the North Koreans advertised and boasted about shooting it to pieces over the Sea of Japan.

I was a guest at NSA in Fort Meade a few years ago when Clinton authorized the military to acknowledge what one such crew had done.

For 40 years the families of those men knew nothing about their loved ones deaths. The pilot of the P3 dishonored the men before him that did what had to be done.

One final note, you notice he decided not to make the Navy a career??? I suspect he was helped in making that decision.

When you trashed Osborn, you stated that you would have performed to a higher standard, despite never having done so.

I've re-read my post many times now, I still can't find where I "stated that I would have performed to a higher standard". Not only are we ignorant, we can't read either.

Good point.

I remember when Clinton did that. Its one of the few things he did right.

If the truth be known, we've lost quite a few crews to lightning, bad weather, mechanical failures, etc. etc.

Funny how only pri 1 squadrons run into those problems.

At first I thought the title said Sharon Osborn.

As I said, I was at NSA the day those men were finally honored. There was not an empty seat in the place nor a dry eye.

Sadly, several of the men had no families there to see them finally honored. Some of the younger military and NSA staff had no idea of what those men had done, paid the full price and then forgotten with the stroke of a pen.

That is the nature of the business.

Bush made me sick when he gave medals to those people. Damned cowards.

You said that just by castigating his performance.

"A P-3 ditching at sea is a lot safer than landing on enemy territory."

Al, me boy...did you happen to notice that big mushroom-shaped thingie on the underside of the airplane, a good distance from the center of gravity? A P-3 is safe to ditch, but an EP-3E will cartwheel.

The EP-3 rarely makes a successful ditch.

"I had friends that were caught over Vladivostok, they managed to get their acft out of over water."

Wow. I am so impressed. You knew someone who did it.

However, you didn't do it yourself. And until you have, your argument cuts no ice with me. One cannot say how one will or won't do their duty until the moment of supreme test arrives.

Generally, the ones who most loudly castigated others for being cowards were the ones most loudly crying for their mamas during incoming.

Pale...You obviously have never been involved in such operations. That shows.

With that in mind, I might suggest you read up a tad on such operations as have been carried out in the past. If you really want to express opinions read them and then get back to us.

I will send you some good urls on such for your edification.

Why be personal? You have no idea of what I or anyone else has done. The question here is that cowards surrendered their acft and dishonored others from the past.

Is that so difficult to understand?

"Why be personal? You have no idea of what I or anyone else has done. The question here is that cowards surrendered their acft and dishonored others from the past."

No one can dishonor another person; one can only dishonor himself or herself. If the dead are dishonored, it was through their own dishonorable actions.

The situation with China today is not the situation with the USSR of the 1950s; we are not facing the potential of an imminent war for national survival against China.

"Is that so difficult to understand?"

Yeah, it's kind of hard for me to understand why so many armchair commandos masturbate to the idea of Americans committing honorable suicide for the National Security Agency.

No P-3 is safe to ditch in. ( 9 was our sister squadron)

"We are Ditching! Ditching! Ditching!"

Notice All those big mouths can never say what was worth killing 24 men & woman for.

After I left active. I worked in defense electronics. It’s not hardware that makes thing happen these days. It’s software. Pull the hard drive or any other boot devices out of your computer and see how well it works.
How many parts in it. Were made in a fab in China.

Anyone who has been around P-3s would never say a P-3 safe to ditch in. Even with an intact airframe.

They must be dem a rats.
