I have never hesitated to vote for a Republican President's nominees to the Supreme Court whose commitment to core national goals and values appeared clear at the time. National goals and values supporting a socialist revolution no doubt.
In fact I have voted for seven of them, more than the number of nominees of Democratic Presidents I have voted for.
You have been in the senate waaaay too long chappy.

Future nominees ought to just tell sweet lies in kennedy's ear, like he and every other liberal does to voters, when they run for office.

"The fundamental question was whether his (Roberts) record and his answers suggested that he would be an obstacle to that progress, by treating cases before the Supreme Court in a narrow legalistic way that resists and undermines the extraordinary gains of the past." Yeah, it's hard for Kennedy to imagine the Cheif Justice on the Supreme Court treating the cases before him in a legal way.
Kennedy would prefer Roberts be more like Ginsburg, Souter, Kennedy, O'Connor et al and treat the cases with their personal political agenda instead of law.

What amazing country.... you can cheat your way through college and law school, kill a young woman without even being indicted for the felony of manslaughter, drink so much that a liver transplant is always an imminent possibility, and become the reining fat oaf of the Demagogic Party..... all because your name is Kennedy.
I used to live in Massachusetts, and never could understand why my fellow citizens sent this fraud back to DC every six years.... but then they kept electing John 'Vichy' Kerry, too, so there's not much good sense there despite all the colleges and universities..... (or I should say because of those same colleges and universities....).

I have thought long and hard about the exchanges I had with Judge Roberts, and I have read and re-read the transcript and the record. Thought about it over cocktails, you mean. If you had really re-read the transcript, you would have seen how now Justice Roberts pretty much gave you the what-for, though you were too buried in notes that someone wrote for you to notice.

They laugh at him too. There's a knee jerk anti Republican reaction that bars them from booting him out.
Romney won as governor because state treasurer Shannon O'Brien was so incredibly bad that the pretense had to be dropped.

Hey, do me a favor, will ya? Don't bother posting anything by Ted Kennedy unless it contains something along the lines of, "I take full responsibility for the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. If I hadn't been driving drunk that night in 1969 that woman would still be alive."

Kennedy and Hillary are OUT of THE MAINSTREAM... MORE Democrats voted for Roberts than those who voted against. Those opposing him are out on the fringe.

Have you ever thought about what it must be like to BE Ted Kennedy?
The brother of two of the most revered men of his era. Champion of a great social movement. Wealthy, powerful and connected the leadership of the free world could have been his. And because of ego, arrogance and failure of character he threw it all away.
For over three decades he has had to stand by and watch as men he must have loathed have risen above him to be President. The social programs he championed in his youth have failed miserably. He has had to watch as they have been dismantled one by one. Issues he championed from the ERA to gun control have been struck down or rendered irrelevant by the flow of history. Today he is just a pathetic ranting gas bag. He has led his party into the minority and has little influence over the course of events.
Twenty years from now John Roberts will probably be the revered Chief Justice. The only one some people will be able to remember. During his tenure he has the opportunity to achieve great things for America.
Twenty years from now Ted Kennedy will be an historical footnote.

Easily. Having him back in Massachusetts would be much worse. Would YOU like having him around? Well, you do not need to answer: I sense your "no!!!" unless you need a punching bag.

"justice for all' is a reality -- not just a pledge in the Constitution Since Kennedy has been in the Senate for probably 100 years, I'm sure he has the Constitution memorized. Not that he ever follows it, but I'm sure he has it memorized.
Now, I don't have it memorized, so can someone point me to the part of the Constitution where it says this?
