As Corzine lead wilts, Clinton gets call (Rapist-in-Chief rides to the rescue)

As Corzine lead wilts, Clinton gets call

WASHINGTON - Former President Bill Clinton is being called in to help rescue the slumping New Jersey gubernatorial campaign of Jon Corzine, who has given up a double-digit lead and is just 4 points ahead of Republican Doug Forrester in a new poll.

"It's 911 time in the Corzine campaign. Obviously, he's in trouble," said a senior Democratic strategist.

Clinton will campaign with the Democratic U.S. senator today at Kean University in Union, hoping to turn around Corzine's stalled run for the New Jersey statehouse.

A Quinnipiac poll gives Corzine a 48%-to-44% lead over Forrester - a 6-point drop from a month ago. Other recent polls have Corzine up by 9 points, but they also show him ceding a double-digit lead.

Strategists say it's not too late for Corzine to turn it around, and one said "it's not a surprise" he has tapped the ever-popular Clinton to help fix the problem.

Corzine is accused of trying to conceal a $470,000 loan to ex-girlfriend Carla Katz, the head of New Jersey's largest state workers union.

The race has become a titanic TV ad war, with both millionaire candidates digging deep into their pockets to buy time on New York and Philadelphia stations that penetrate into New Jersey.

The big question I have is that if Corzine can't turn it around, will they pull another 11th hour Torricelli on Doug Forrester and who will they dig up to play the part of the corpse of Frank Lautenburg? Florio? Byrne? Bill Bradley? Bon Jovi?

Defeating Corzine would be a sweet surprise ... he was considered a shoo-in given his bottomless pockets.

It says something about how sick the people of New Jersey is that they still have positive feelings for Clinton. Gawd, what the hell is wrong with this country that they love a criminal, a lout and a low life like Clinton who got 3000 of them killed by doing NOTHING against Al Qaeda in the 90s, tying the hands of our intelligence agencies and cutting their budgets and letting Bin Laden get away up to 12 times in the 90s according to 2 recent books, "Why America Slept" by LIBERAL New York Times journalist Gerald Posner and "Losing Bin Laden" by Richard Mintier. And no small number of New Jersites were among the dead on 9-11.

Yet the country if you believe the polls, and I'm not sure I do, have turned against Bush who's done BIG THINGS to turn the economy around and protect the nation unlike the do-nothing felon Clinton who left our ass hanging out there for Bin Laden to kick. We're living in an Alice in Wonderland nation right now where the people of this nation are approving of evil and turning against real leadership that's trying hard to do the right thing and to honor their office. Is it any wonder we're being hit with one disaster after another?

For a state whose current homosexual governor appointed his lover as head of Homeland Security and where the dems had to bring in a last minute candidate to replace crook Torreceli for the senate you would think the voters would get the message about the democrats

Even Tony Soprano would make that state look good

They're printing up phony ballots already, so they won't lose this election. Unless we institute the fool-proof purple finger mode of voting, there will never be honest elections in Dem urban areas. Any chance of a good hurricane cleaning up NJ?

I disagree. Clinton got Blanco and Landrieu both owe him their elections. The minority uber vo0te was activated in both cases, I think.
