Travis County, Texas, District Attorney Ronnie Earle, who exploded upon the American scene as a result of a grand jury indictment against Republican House Majority Leader Tom Delay, is a known partisan Democrat in Texas. His history of trying to prosecute Republicans such as Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson also is widely known in Texas. The Senator Hutchinson case was thrown out when Earle admitted he could not prosecute the case due to insufficient evidence which in legalese means he had no case. His attempt to do the same thing to Bush campaign consultant Bob Bullock also failed when a grand jury refused to indict Bullock.
The tough, tenacious Ronnie Earle often boasts of his close relationship with former Texas Governor Ben Barnes and Robin Rather and they are listed as supporters and contributors to his reelection campaigns. Barnes is the man who on CBS's 60 Minutes told newsman Dan Rather he pulled strings to get President Bush into the National Guard, and Robin Rather is Dan Rather's daughter, a Democrat activist in Texas. The former CBS anchor is suspected of working closely with the Texas Democrat Committee and in fact it was Texas from which the famous Rathergate forged documents emanated. Rather was forced to resign from CBS after bloggers exposed his prima facie evidence against Bush as a fraud. And Dan was a guest speaker at a Democrat fundraiser for none other than Ronnie Earle.

Bush campaign associate Bob Bullock? Is this the same Bullock who was a democratic official in Texas?
Yup, Bullock was Bush's second in command in Texas, a conservative democrat which put him squarely in Ronnie Earle's sights, not because he was a democrat but because he was a conservative.
So much for a fair trial.
If Texas is anything like GA, and I'm sure it is being southern, everyone used to be democrats, there were no republicans really. The democrats were conservative or liberal.
Goes back to reconstruction.
Rather's daughter is Ben Barnes? Ewww, she's ugly!
It wasn't so long ago that virtually all officials in Texas were democrats. Bullock was a conservative democrat. Most of the "democrats" that Earle, in phony protestation of his non-partisan status, boasts about having prosecuted were conservative democrats from Texas' "yellow dog" era. Earle has always used investigations and indictments against his political enemies, which is anyone to the right of, well, Dan Blather.
This little nothing DA needs to straighten out his own county first.
Strange name to call your daughter.
I heard on Fox News yesterday morning that this guy (Ronnie Earl) at one time INDICTED HIMSELF!!! Then stood in front of the judge and plead guilty. I get the impression that he was trying to show how "honest" he was. If he were so honest, he wouldn't have had to "indict himself"! He wouldn't have done anything wrong in the 1st place. What a CREEP!!!! All show, no substance. This guy seriously needs to be investigated - and put out on the street! Wonder why people can't see thru him - sounds like he's addicted to prosecuting just for the sake of prosecuting, or as I said earlier - all for show. Weird!
Barnes was never Governor. He was Lt. Gov and resigned when caught up in the S&L scams back in the 80s. Never charged, but lots of his buds were.
Ha!
Ronnie Earle is about to learn one of life's wonderful little lessons: you put your hand in the fire, you get burned. Just ask Dan Rather.
I remember Barnes as an opportunistic AH who was always running but never catching much of anything. Texans know how
to keep him a "Bride's maid".
I think you're right. It's one thing to play big shot on your own turf......but it's quite another ...to play dodge ball with the big boyz.
So as I see it by your title of this thread, Ben Barns is Dan Rather's daughter... :<)
Rush just spoke of Rather's connection with Earle. Could he have read your post?
That's NOT a real pic...please say it isn't..
