I'm sure I'll get slammed as a racist. But before you slam me, can you tell me why the majority of black Americans support policies and politicians that perpetuate keeping blacks pregnant, poor and uneducated? One can only assume that they like the way things are. It allows a few black politicians to become rich, put on a good show of "helping" their community and keep the majority of blacks in a position that they "need" handouts. 80 posted on 09/29/2005 10:15:05 AM EDT by RouxStir (Governor Blanco Screwed Up and People Died.)

And I doubt that your forbear's 13 children came from a number of different fathers.

I know a certain woman who couldn't speak English, never really learned it once she came here, being that she settled in an ethnic ghetto in Newark, NJ, and proceeded to have 15 kids (12 of whom lived past one year) in a tiny frame house.

Some may say that seems crazy, but at least she didn't stop at 6, for the 7th was my grandfather.

Of course, great granpa was also on the premesis (sp) and made all of his kids work at his construction firm, so they all turned out all right. I fear that this will not be the same for these kids.

"This is really a matter of education, not economics,.."

On the other hand, we already give them many shots at education on our dime and they choose not to take them. Why should they when they can live on us for free? And they won't change their minds about that till the $ spigot runs dry.

So in that way its kind of a "chicken or egg" situation.

You'd think at least some of them would be full siblings, if only through the law of averages.

"Asked about the seven who were adopted, White struggled to match names and ages, finally shaking her head sadly.

''I got so many children it's a doggone shame," she said."

This woman has had too many children, IMO.

If you'll check out the link in #10, you can see a picture of Ms. White and "C.C.".

Sad that we even have to think along these lines.
How about this:
15 yo mother, 30 yo grandmother, 45 yo great-grandmother, 60 yo great-great grandmother, 75 yo great-great-great grandmother. Once upon a time five living generations was nearly unheard of and made for front-page news.

That's six generations, because the 15-year-old mother has a baby.

I know more than one family with double-digits of children. Married couples, working, church-going, raising their children to be the kind of people we can use more of.

It's not the number of children that matters; it's the kind of parents they have. The 13 offspring in this article seem to have had, in effect, no parents worth the name, except for the ones adopted, hopefully by functional families.

My mom worked for the county -- food stamps, welfare, etc. She had a list of funny names -- Latrina was one of the best. I think there was a Mr. Jones too (ie, first name).

No,it didn't give her race and usually I ask posters who make asumptions like that similiar questions.
However, three clues that she is most likely black.
1.She's from New Orleans-two thirds black
2.She is 37 and her first name is Dionne-she was obviously named after Dionne Warwick,a big star the year she was born,1968
3.She nicknamed her kid"CC",very common practice in black communities.
