Thanks for the ping!
bump
Oops, okay, thanks.
Something I haven't read about but once is the number of scientologists down here, scores of them, swarming everywhere. And at the downtown BR shelter, they were allowed in at will with no screening etc, lilke they were working for the govt. They are all over LSU wanting to help with mental health and students and post hurricane problems. Scary folks.

Scientologists were heavily connected to the Terri Schiavo incident too.
We had a whole thread about it; but that thread got pulled.
LOL, that was just a real beyotchy reply. Don't mind me, I didn't post a thread and I didn't ping anyone in particular but i was pretty shocked when I got the info from Fox and went there.
Now this thread:

Red Cross Criticized, Urged to Share Cash
Says the Red Cross needs $2 billion to cover emergency shelter and food, plus short-term financial aid, but not longer-term recovery or rebuilding.
So is the Red Cross handling shelter or is MoveOn.org? And who needs the extra billion? Is it for shelter? So the billion goes to MoveOn?
If the refugees are being taken in by NJ, Tx, Chicago and Long Island, who is getting this money?
It was a great find. You and Angel are great!
Can you please give me the link to the thread and any info you got from FOX. Thanks in advance.
I did notice it is under Red Cross on her site. I thought that was misleading.
On the Red Cross site, it is under FEMA. Thought that was misleading too.
The link I posted in 49 is to another Red Cross story. Red Cross says they need more money for shelter and more.
Now I'm curious as to who is providing shelter that needs the money.
On the Red Cross sites, Hurricane Housing is being listed as provide by, well, hurricanehousing.org or hurricanehousing.net (same group)
But I thought all the refugees were taken in by other areas (states)? Is Red Cross providing any housing? Who specifically needs the xtra money? Is it hurricanehousing.org that needs more funds?
Yeah, I noticed, too, that it was tucked away on a page that makes it look as though it is affiliated with the FEMA effort. I knew that Moveon.org was taking an active role in the housing of evacuees but I didn't realize (until i saw that listing) that they had been given such a recognized, and apparently, authorized endorsement.
john kerry:
"I will vote against the nomination of John Roberts to serve as Chief Justice of the United States.
I refuse to vote for a Supreme Court nominee who came before the Senate intent on demonstrating his ability to deftly deflect legitimate questions about his views, opinions and philosophy.
If he is confirmed and he may well be the Roberts Court will shape the course of constitutional law for decades to come. It will decide dozens of cases that will define the depth and breadth of freedom in America our commitment to civil rights, our dedication to civil liberties, our devotion to privacy and a woman's right to choose.
With that much at stake, Judge Roberts needed to show us where his heart is. Instead he recited case law and said little about what he really thought.
While I recognize that other members of the Senate will legitimately make a different choice, I will vote NO on the Roberts nomination. "
Imagine him being mad at Roberts for not stating clearly his position on the issues!!!
John who?
BTTT!!
I only glanced through the moveon related site but it seemed to me that they were trying to match people with houses/rooms with people in need. Is that inaccurate?
This is priceless.
