Folks, this is an easy one. The Dems launched this Indictment to create a bargaining chip against the Indictments the Dems know are coming against certain Louisiana Democratic personalities.

I've actually thought this may be one of the reasons...especially since he originally wasn't going to indict Delay. He changed his mind for some reason.

Thanks for placing Ronnie Earle's partisan move into context. It helps correct my tendancy to get caught up in a story and fail to see the forest for the trees.

I appologize for my short sightedness. After seeing the Miers nomination, and she and/or Roberts prove to be another Souter, this DeLay Indictment was to force a SCOTUS deal and not simply to save a Louisiana Democrat.
