No, you didn't say me. I was just pointing out that you were right from a thread...eons ago.

I learned how right you were from phone calls, faxing, emails, letters, tears....

>>>>what do you think of the #7 photo above

I've nothing but vile spit to say about any of it...

I'm still way too suspicious about the Port Authority, Kuschner connection, Torricelli connection....selling of it...China connection :(

I'm thrilled IFC is moving on down the road.

The rest, no comment :(

``We are deeply disappointed that the will could not be found to continue the development of the International Freedom Center at this hallowed site,'' the Freedom Center said in a statement. ``We do not believe there is a viable alternative place for the IFC at the World Trade Center site.''

All they did was waste time and money, and pi$$ off a lot of people!

Don't go away mad. Just go away!

YEAH!! It's nice when the system works--we didn't want it and it won't get shoved down our collective throats. Thanks to everyone who signed petitions, made phone calls, and rallied against this abortion.

Yes, the crescent is next...we can do it, if we fight as hard as we did this one!

I have been getting e-mail updates about this situation and am delighted that Pataki is taking a stand about it.

email I just received:

We are very pleased to announce that Governor Pataki has announced the removal of the International Freedom Center (IFC) from Ground Zero. See http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/28/AR2005092801849.html for details.

Every since June 8, 2005 when Debra Bulingame's op-ed, The Great Ground Zero Heist, appeared in the Wall Street Journal, we have fought together for the preservation of the dignity of Ground Zero. With your help, we have achieved a major victory toward that goal.

We will continue to monitor the plans for Ground Zero to ensure that a fitting and proper memorial is built; one that is respectful of the victims murdered that day, their families, the first responders, and the American people.

A press release on the removal of the IFC from the 15 family member groups is expected in the next 24 hours and we will post it @ www.takebackthememorial.org as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you again for your support, prayers, and dedication. We simply could not have done this without you.

Sincerely,

Robert D. Shurbet

I'm confused, where are you going with these concerns?

Silverstein has a lease for the property (he had a lease for the buildings too, but of course they are gone now). he's got a lease from the port authority, billions in insurance money for the destroyed towers - so he is rebuilding.

I'm thrilled IFC is moving down the road.

Off the drawing board would be more like it. The "C" in IFC stands for 'Capitulation'.

Well done, Governor Pataki.

Back slappin' Congratulations, Calpernia.

Excellent news. A place may always be found for cesspools of agitprop such as the IFC in Ann Arbor, Berkeley, Madison, or Ithaca. There they don't even notice the smell.

Dear "Freedom" Center;

Eat Sh!t and Die! Take your sacred temple of multiculturalism and America hatred someplace where it will be appreciated. May I suggest Paris, or better yet, one of those fly-blown Islamic hellholes that you creatures worship. You can set your little "museum" up right next to the town center where the women who accidentally flash a little ankle from under their burqas get stoned to death. Just make sure you leave enough room for the Red Crescent monument your asshat buddy is proposing for the Flight 93 crash site, because we're sending that monstrosity over your way next.

Rot in Hell you worthless little leftist toads;

America

the biggest challenge down there - renting the space. so far, no tenants (note my China post above as an exclusion).

you realize that this was tied into the Manhattan stadium deal. Bloomberg knows that not alot of firms want to rent space downtown anymore. where they really want to be is on the west side of manhattan. the west side development plan, of which the stadium was the central part, would have put alot of office space into that area. Sheldon Silver, NY assembly speaker - his district is lower manhattan. since he had a vote on the stadium and west side plan - he killed it, believing that this would "force" more tenants to look downtown.

in my opinion, it won't work. NYC will get the shaft at both ends - no development of the west side, no stadium, and replacement buildings at the WTC that have very low occupancy rates, especially at the start.

They could get tenants if someone finally stands up and fights the perceived market value.

But that is getting way off topic into pork and nonessential taxes and corruption.

Small businesses could fill space if rent wasn't so high.
