Morgues Rely On Embedded Computer Chips

Gulfport, MS (AHN) - As a means to stay on top of the overwhelming body counts after Hurricane Katrina, some morgue workers began using tiny computer chips to keep track of unidentified remains.
VeriChip, donated by a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions Inc., emits a specific radio signal, enabling morgue workers to quickly locate and catalog the remains, speed the morgue-management process and reduce errors.
Radio frequency identification chips were implanted under the corpses' skin or placed inside body bags at two Mississippi counties.
Harrison County Coroner Gary T. Hargrove says the chips have been an asset to his Disaster Mortuary Operational Recovery Team.
He says, "It's better enabled me to do my job as the coroner -- tracking and getting people's loved ones back to them quickly."
I have no problem with the chipping the dead...
Modern day toe tag.
I say death dealing because it's antithetical to autonomy, anonymity, and liberty - the stuff of conscious life. Therefore, it is death. In a poetic way.
I figured the same, I mean you can put a bar code or 3d scan code that will come up with a SKU number for tracking on a toe tag, the RFID is the next thing...
Besides if they cremate or bury the body, the RFID will be useless or stationary.
From their website - "With the VeriChip's unique identification number, which can be scanned into a database, emergency medical personnel can gain immediate access to a patient's medical records."
Scanning... scanning... ping ! ... "He's still dead ! "
I wish I could embed a chip in my tax dollars to find out where they end up. 7000 or something pork barrel add-ons in the transportation bill and people are talking of a 'consumption tax' on energy? Why don't we get rid of all 7000, use half to pay for the hurricane damage, and return the rest to the taxpayers.

I believe this company did the same thing for the tsunami victims. It made handling and identifying the bodies much easier and more accurate.
Only a matter of time before someone quotes Revelation.
Or Orwell
Isn't this a lot like the Book of Revelation?
I've had sandwiches that could fit that description if someone was sufficiently minded to believe it.
you need to be in the '10 dead people or less' line please.
...lol...
actually I want my dead body to go to a cosmetics rendering plant, that way everyone can kiss my butt when I'm gone...
