Those of us who have been following this saw this coming for months. Standard M.O. by yet another corrupt Democrat.

Why don't they just get rid of DeLay the good, old-fashioned legal way -- condemn his neighborhood and give it to developers under eminent domain and make him move to another district if he wants to run again, since they'll be taking his residency away.

The indictment is totally about the 2006 elections, and the pace of the prosecution will be handled so as to make sure that it will not be completed before those elections, if the Democrtatic prosecutor cannot convict Delay.

Earle is an old time southern Democrat who is scared and demoralized as he witnesses Texas and the rest of the south reject the once powerful Donkey Party.
As as result, Earle is blindly and blatantly lashing out as someone in their dying moments often does.

There are only two acceptable responses to this.
1. Defend him to the full extent of the law.
2. Direct every REPUBLICAN Prosecutor in the country to bring all legitimate indictments possible against Democrat politicians.........everywhere at ANY level, starting at the top...
Ask no quarter, and give none....
Make ALL the bastards pay for the actions of a few, and perhaps they will monitor the assholes in the midst a bit better..
I suspect Louisiana, Texas, Kalifornicate, Washington and New York would offer some very attractive targets for indictments...

This is a hit Job by Earle and is totally motivated by redistricting in Texas.
The rats are upset because the GOP is in the majority in Texas, but the way the districts are set up (over 150 years of carpet baggers) it has left the RATs in control of the courts. The redistricting will end their last hold on any type of power in Texas.

If it turns out that this indictment was created strictly to cause DeLay to leave his leadership post -- and for no other reason -- then one of two things should occur:
EITHER:
1) The prosecutor must be arrested and indicted for abuse of government power, or
2) Republicans must similarly abuse the system.

That's right - no allegation of what DeLay did to violate the law. If the D.A isn't more forthcoming, this will be seen for what Levin calls it - a prosecutorial abuse of power and DeLay's attorneys can have the Texas courts sanction the prosecution. Did Earle provide more specifics at his own news conference after the indictment was released?

By my read, on pages 3 and 4, no specific allegation of ANY crime has been made, but Ronnie Earl has indicted DeLay with the option to bring charges within 3 years!
Seems to me, this is just a ploy to remove him from his leadership position, without actually having to have any evidence of ANY criminal activity!
If I were DeLay, I'd demand a VERY speedy trial and DEMAND specific charges be filed in order to properly mount a defense!
Make Ronnie put up or shut up like he was forced in KBH's indictment!

I'm telling you, this has probably been Dan Rather's project since he retired. He probably slipped them some doctored up piece of evidence.
The liberal media have been on this story for a long time now. All they really need is an excuse to recycle it again, and this time in a bigger way with the "official" indictment. But this story has never been credible based on the history of the prosecutor alone.
The MSMedia and Democrat politicians are one. They work as a unit.

Smells like a 'ham sammich' indictment.

The DNC's lead Austin appuratchik, the Earle of Ronnie, commits these indictments "under color of law", a felony, but who shall indict him and the conspiring Politburo?

There is no chance Delay will be convicted, none, in fact I'm sure the judge will throw out the charges at the first hearing. Also, I saw Earle's press conferrence where he made a truly startling comment. In response to a reporter's question Earle said it is his job to accuse individuals of crimes, not prove them, i.e. he has no evidence. Lastly, conspiracy is commonly known in legal circles as the last resort when seeking indictments because it is extremely hard to prove. I believe Earle was pressured to indict the Majority Leader by local dems in Austin, and when the charges are laughed out of court by the presiding judge (just as another judge did when Earle indicted Senator Kay Baily Hutchinson), those who brought and supported this reckless act will be on the political ropes. It will fun to watch.
