Perhaps political payoffs, vacations, Big Easy fun....

I'd like to see the mayor's and police chief's lifestyles and assets measured up against their salaries.

Well according to rumors Nagin now owns houses in New Orleans AND Dallas. Either Cox paid real good before he became mayor or we can probably find some of the money in his houses.

If the FBI does their job they will get their hands on the individual evaluations that have to be part of any permanent record. Interesting to find out who did them. Also the pay records which would list where the checks were deposited and cashed.

You can bet Nagin is in on the scam. He was awfully quick to put the Las Vegas and Atlanta vacations stories out there.

No wonder the citizens were shooting at the NO Police.

Mayor Nagin has already purchased a house in Dallas and moved his family there.
I know I couldn't "purchase" another house if my current one, where I have all my equity, were gone or severely damaged. I doubt if many other USA residents could, either.

Louisiana has been a den of corruption for so long, it has it's own culture on the topic. IMO.
I hope investigations put some of these people into prison for a number of years.
I know I will NEVER donate anything again, unless it is up close and personal.

I'd like to see and independent audit of the mayor's books.

Throw in the governor's too!

How 'bout the Police Department's too?

It's probably up to FR now since today's 'investigative reporters' only seem to 'investigate' Republicans/conservatives. This is choice, btw! Wish I could get Tony's show where I live. I really miss him as a regular on Fox TV.

This may explain why several middle ranking NO officers committed suicide. Official spin is they were overwhelm by the diseaster or they heard that family members were killed by the storm. The more I think about it, the more I think they killed themselves to avoid going to jail.
