Compass was a good guy. His job is done.
He is going back into private work, where his company will flourish.
He can do nothing more in his old position.

I understand. There are thugs in EVERY socioeconomic group, and the Superdome had its share. And you are right. God will not forget.
One thing that has really struck me in connection with this, is that reports now show that things were not as out of control as the media reported. Not even close. Very few people died of unnatural causes or were raped either at the Superdome or the Convention Center. Reports of such were wildly exaggerated.
What surprised me is, well, let me put it this way...would the press have believed those exaggerated claims if the Superdome had been filled with poor white people? My guess, honestly, is no. I think the group that was the most racist and classist in this entire episode was the press. The pious, preaching, know-it-all press. Stunning really. But maybe not.
The rest of us were all to willing to believe. It reflected badly on us all. I hope that I learned from it.

I too was born and raised there. Everything you said is correct. These are the stereotypical big fish in little bayous, er, ponds down there.
The rest of the country always gave a wink and a nod to those zany Southerners ignoring the fact that there were very real crimes being committed and everyday people being harmed. Hollywood helped perpetuate the myth of the corruption as a bunch of zany good ol' boys wielding local power.
I'm hopeful that there will be indictments and trials that bare the corruption, that lead to the recovery of taxpayer monies and finally that lead to some jail time.

I have never lost faith in this man. I know he does his best every time. It might not always be what I would want him to do but I never distrust his motivesI'm getting into this thread late, but I couldn't agree more. Count me in on the Dubya dance. :)

Corrupt LA is going DOWN.Maybe we will get to fight a "splendid little war" on a banana republic without leaving the country! :D

By the way there has been no doubt shed that women were raped inside the Dome and I've seen more than a few first person reports from women stating they were molested and one who saw a rape in the Dome. Not rumors. Drudge Report today says there is not one substantiated case.
Also says with witnesses and victims evacuated, that substatiation may come later.

I hope the $200 Billion to "rebuild" the Gulf Coast -- goes ANYWHERE but New Orleans...
I've seen NOTHING in the New Orleans quagmire, that justifies rebuilding ---- NOTHING...
First they would have to fumigate to remove all the crooked "Democrat" politicians, dead voters, phantom cops, pimps, whores, welfare broodmares, drug addicts and your run of the mill thugs........
Move the Jazz joints and breast flashers out of town to "higher ground".....abandon New Orleans to the gulf....

"Looks like they were padding the books. Pretty easy to have those 100,000 police officers that Clinton called for when it looks like quite a few of them don't even exist." ...Makes me think back to how quickly the HillBilly Clintoons came to town after the flood.
Bump for hilarious keywords!

I am starting to see gambling and corruption go hand and hand. Step one in becoming politically savvy and morally straight.
