EAST HADDAM -- Around town - and as far away as Tennessee - people are wondering why federal agents seized datashak plants and seeds and 19 computer discs from a Muslim campground in Moodus.
First Selectman Brad Parker said Friday's raid on the 18-acre Town Street campground, owned by Darul Uloom Shady Brook Inc., has the town abuzz. FBI agents and officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted the raid.
"Out on the street, people don't think that [the federal government] would go to that effort for a spinach plant," Parker said.
A Tennessee-based blog called "Ginny's Thoughts and Things" also seeks answers about the East Haddam raid: "I'm totally confused on this one. Could someone explain this to me?"
The federal Office of Inspector General declined to shed any light Monday, citing an ongoing investigation.

Interesting reference to a "Tennessee-based" blog, especially by a leftie know-it-all newspaper.
There is a compound here in Virginia that doesn't allow police inside their facility. If the police want to speak to someone, they have to ask at the gate and wait for the person to be brought to them (if at all).
So far, the police are unwilling to start another Waco over it.
Yeah, well I guess the Feds should have run a story in the newspaper detailing exactly what they are looking for and why they decided to look for it in a Muslim owned factory.
This is who the enemy is. Ignore them at our own peril!

Where in Virginia(I live there)? Some of us would like to keep an eye on it!

I think it is called Red Hill. Somewhere in Southside Va.
One never knows the power of spinach:
The Hartford Courant is a liberal rag...the fact that this is going on in my state is quite troubling. I cannot believe that we are NOT racial profiling....and I cannot believe we are NOT shutting down these campgrounds....
Why not?
I'm sure that every celebrity has a set up like that. It's called private property.
They was only growin' spinach...yeah, right.
I googled Darul Uloom Shady Brook Inc. and there are several schools in the east named Darul Uloom, including in Pennsylvania and Florida. Is this a summer camp, a madrassa, a training center or what?
Not when you realize that Memphis is an AlQaueda stronghold in the USA where they can coordinate attacks - Recent arrests include 3 terrorists and not long ago, a woman who was providing all the papers, DL's, etc for the terrorists.
There was an American microbiologist who was mysteriously murdered in the same area.
U.S. NAVY BUPERS is just north of Memphis.
BTTT
That is true of individuals but not communities. Any fraternity member can tell you that. The police can walk right in but they have to stop at the door of each room.
