Brown is telling it like it is - my point is, if later this afternoon McClellan goes to a microphone and makes some statement about "Brown does not speak for the administration" or "Brown's opinion are his own" - it undercuts the effectiveness of this.
Except to facilitate disaster planning and to preposition assets and to prearrange working quarters for themselves and local authorities. All of which was done before Katrina, and before Rita.
So am I reading this right, they have checked 500 names of people said to be on NOPD and only 80 of them actually exist???? They still have more names to check, and one of the police officers who took his own life was somehow involved in keeping track of the names.
This could be the reason for taking his life.
Funny, my mother lives in Meridian, MS and the NG was there right away handing out ice, etc. She was very complimentary of how things were handled. My friend lives in Slidell, LA and she had nothing but good things to say about FEMA. Guess they just don't like you.

Perhaps some of what we think was ineptness by the Gov and the Mayor was actually an attempt to cover up something . Maybe they were banking on NO not getting hit .

The last thing blanco, nagin but ESPECIALLY Landrieu want is for their dirty, dirty, abusive, horrific misuse of federal money, the manner in which they have denied services ( police, evacuation plans, etc) and safety to their poorest population TO BE EXPOUSED TO ALL OF AMERICAN.
Never have these grunts prayed harder that the mainstream press will do a major cover-up for their atrocities.

NOLA is right on the edge of it - and the track shifted by the 5pm advisory and it was running right over NOLA.
My parents live along the Texas Gulf Coast. During Rita's approach, their town ordered a mandatory evacuation 60 hours before any anticipated landfall, even though the forecast track was 100 miles to the north - because the town was in that zone of uncertainty. Rita ended up missing them by a wide margin - but if you wait for the track to become absolutely certain, it's too late.
Nagin should have ordered evacuations Friday night when two straight advisories (5pm, 11pm) had NOLA dead center in the path. Instead, he spent Saturday asking for legal advice about issuing a mandatory evacuation. Don't you think he should have worked that out, say, LAST YEAR?!?
Isn't this the guy Rush talked about, his family was killed and that is why he took his life?
Having Brown there testifying FIRST gives info/evidence that can counteract the inevitable lies of Blanco, Nagin et al in later hearings.

You're not disagreeing; you are out and out posting misinformation. Now there are two reasons for that: 1) you're woefully ignorant of how the government works, or 2) you're a liberal and buy into everything you hear on TV.
