Hearings beginning now on C-Span- Michael Brown will be grilled.
Have at it, folks:)
There's a awful lot of rich crooked LA politicians that need to be questioned...starting from the Senator Baby Fat on down
If Blanco and Nagin aren't called before this committe, then we'll know this is all a sham.
I'm trying to follow what Brown is saying here. I think it's important.
Being asked about how FEMA decides where to send resources. They work with the state to decide. Sounds like there wasn't unified command to make those decisions.
That's my congressman! I called his office yesterday morning and went on a rant about Louisiana's corrupt government and their request for billions! I am glad someone in his office told him!!
She's a bit disingenuous :^
Howlin, I agree, but let's bring in all the governors from the affected states!
Remember when even Rudy was put on the hot seat back after 911? The dems tried to smear him multiple times.
All in all, Congress just likes to point fingers, yell shrilly and act like we need them when we really do not most times.
Can you say "softball tournament?"
That's ridiculous!
If it were as corrupt as you say, they would have some former governor in prison for taking bribes from some shady character who also pled guilty for getting a casino in NO.
Where's your evidence of that? HUH?!?
I was REALLY surprised, dem.
And the really freaky thing was that this was a group I don't normally talk politics with because there have been .....er....um......some nasty disagreements before.....LOL.
We are not alone.
On noon Friday, three days before the storm hit NO, the forecast track from the National Hurricane Center still was forecasting a track that would have Katrina hitting Pensacola, FL and the panhandle area. NO was on the far edge of the expected track. No one expected NO to get hit at that point.
Don't forget Mayor Nagin saying these cops needed to go off to Las Vagas for a few days because it is a party town like NOLA and it will be good for them to clear their head. Forget doing the job they were hired to do.
Nagin has a lot to anser in my opinion. Blanco will not even run for Gov of LA again, Nagin will resign. I see lots of clean up going on in LA. Not just the roads, homes, but the corrupt LA Gov't.
seems to me Blanco should be sitting there under subpoena.
seems to me Blanco should be stitting there pleading the 5th because SHE is under criminal investigation for her own misdeeds which have been exposed.
she is asking why FEMA doesn't know what is on a truck?
Oh, true........I didn't mean to leave anybody out; Haley should testify, too.
What do you think is ridiculous? That New Orleans is corrupt? That's beyond dispute.
Buyer is the congressman from my home district (IN 4), and, JMO, he's not my fave; he's a bit arrogant.
But, having said that, it is a masterstroke to have him on this panel. He is a lawyer and is in the Army Reserve, where he serves in a legal capacity (kind of like a JAG, from my understanding). He is bulldogged enough to ask the right questions.
No that is a legitimate question. Someone said it was the governors fault that there weren't people in place , that it is not the fault of FEMA. The governor has the national guard that they are able to deploy in case of a natural disater. Now the arguement is is that it is up to the local and state authorities (first responders) to respond first. What I am saying is that the FEDERAL government called up the MS national guard to go to Iraq.
So the federal government can call state troops to go to Iraq, but how dare the state call up a federal agency to help the state?
LOL........I'm with Peach......as long as I've been alive, New Orleans/Louisiana corruption is just something you knew as fact.
