FOX is sort of covering it .. until it turns out that Brown is bashing the democrats to pieces .. telling William Jefferson (D-LA) about the problems he encourtered with Blanco and Nagin.

If you will recall Mr. Jefferson was the guy who directed the NG to personally assist him in getting his stuff out of his house - and made a helicopter (with rescued people in it) hover for 45 minutes - then waived them off - because the NG had a big truck - but it got stuck in the mud and they had to send another truck to get them out. The guy is a total ass. And .. he was already under investigation prior to the hurricane - but I'm not sure what the charge was. Rush talked about the guy for days because it was so outrageous what he did.

So, while Brown is exposing the dems .. FOX switches to a conversation with a couple of talking heads who are now trying to say that the reason things went bad in LA vs. MS was because they didn't have communications, water, blah, blah, blah. Which of course has nothing to do with THE PREPARATION PRIOR TO THE HURRICANE.

I just can't listen to these democrat liars anymore. I'm sick of the whole mess.

This dem Taylor is from Mississippi, thus, he is complaining on behalf of his constituents. I think they have special access to these hearings if their states were hit.

People need to get on this story about the padded police officers. How much more clear does it need to get that this horrendous screw up was due to incompetence and corruption.

"note Shep Smith, Giraldo, and Oprah!"

Yes, and unfortunately Shep and Geraldo were among the very worst.

Now I wonder if that is another padded job....

I've heard of "no-show" state jobs in Massachusetts, but usually the people actually exist! ;-)

Rep. Taylor keeps asking "what part of Fema's plan includes policemen having to 'loot' Walmart and grocery stores for provisions?".

I wish Mr. Brown would shoot back that it's NOT FEMA's PLAN!!!

Dem congressman asking a snarky question about looting. Brown: you cannot assume that the feds will allow you to walk aout of your home after a disaster and get a meal. Cites the need for personal responsibility. Hurray!

I have lost a lot of respect for FoxNews during their coverage of the hurricanes.
They seem to be more "tabloid" type news and blow things out of proportion. It's like Whorealdo and bleeding heart Shep Smith have taken over the newsroom......
I expected more from that network.
I turned it off this am and am listening to c-span on Sirius radio.

Rep. Gene Taylor (D) Mississippi - wouldn't a prudent person think we could have saved a lot of money if we had gas for people who wanted to get out of the area.

Was there any thing in the FEMA plan that envisioned that.

Brown: FEMA Is not there to supply gasoline and transportation. It is not the government's role to supply five gallons of gasoline to everyone who wants to leave. For people on fixed incomes, it is a state and local responsibility.

This gasoline question is stupid. Good lord, don't the State's have any role in helping their own citizens.

It's not FEMA's plan, it's the State's plan.

This congresscritter is either being disingenuous or stuck on stupid.
