Hearings beginning now on C-Span- Michael Brown will be grilled.
Have at it, folks:)
The truck was not stuck until he started loading stuff in it. He refused the helicopter Rescue effort a few times because he wanted to stay with the truck. He held up those Copters at least 45 mins when they could have been rescuing people off rooftops.
Remember landrieu's horrific accusation that it is hard enough to get people to work on a sunny day, much less a weekend, regarding the bus drivers, etc?
Now I wonder if that is another padded job....
What kind of WARPED PEOPLE are leading LA, it reads like a nightmare of corruption.
Good morning, Christian4Bush. That IS a direct quote!
Who the heck is this blonde headed swavy...........
Hi, cyberant. Jeb Bush isn't my favorite politician at this juncture but he could run FEMA and I'd be okay with it. Florida knows canes. Jeb knows canes.
Heheheh. Yeah, but we tend to react differently to sudden terrorist attacks than we do to natural hazards that are clearly seen 3 days out.
Brown: had equipment prepositioned. FEMA does not have enough radio communications for a disaster covering 90,000 square miles.
Taylor sounds pretty belligerent. "And where were they prepositioned?"
Trailer loads (18,000 ea.) of MREs at Camp Beauregard, (somewnere I didn't catche), Fort Worth, Atlanta, Charlotteville, Palmetto, Homestead, Meridian, two on-site at Superdome before landfall.
Why would first responders have to loot the local grocery stores to feed themselves? (!!!)
I thought that RATS were not in the hearing?
this rep is a fool, don't states have responsibilites at all.. reposition a sat before a storm?? what a A**Hat
That's why they deflected the blame to the President and FEMA right out of the box.
Democrat trying to pin Brown down on why first responders had to loot Wal Mart for equipment.
Brown responds that there is no way he will pre position assets and equipment and people in an area that is going to be destroyed/hit.
it reads like a nightmare of corruption...EVERYONE in federal gov't knows it is MUCH worde than that.
BUMP.
I solved the problem by putting my TV on captions. That way I can read while he's talking and don't miss anything.
It sounds like the microphone is keyed up too much, or he is too close to the mike when he is talking. It sounds like it is muffled sometimes.
Worse, not worde.
That's imputing a meaning she didn't intend. She was impugning the road system and mass transit, not the local government workers.
Brown: This is why you have to take personal responsibility to be on your own for 2-3 days.
If anyone thinks that FEMA has to help everyone immediately, then this Congress needs to reevaluate how they fund FEMA and what FEMA's response role is.
I think I'm going to need oxygen, listening to Rush's show today...the last time he did two segments straight of "william Jefferson, Democrat-Louisiana", I laughed so hard I could barely breathe.
I agree. The only counter to that is that attacking 4 weeks ago wouldn't have changed the response to the hurricane relief. And I sincerely believe that Bush does not care about the shrieking blame game that was taking place. He knew the facts then, and knew the facts would come out eventually. Interestingly, the story evolving right now is that the hysterics of the mainstream media was perhaps one of the biggest failures in this whole mess. In effect, the press and democrats have taken yards and yards of rope, tied a big knot to hang Bush and the Republican party, and then stuck their own necks through the noose.
