Well, in future emergencies we are gong to have to pay a couple of people to do nothing but watch TV. Curently, I don't think TV watching is in any FEMA job description, and I can bet that if you had heard of a position like that before Katrina, you would have been demanding the head of whoever thought up the position, all the while grumbling about bloated government.

I'm with you... McCain told Hannity today that he's going to fight it and asked Sean to keep hammering on the subject daily. Of couse, McCain couldn't come back to AZ if he supported this 250 billion... I'm certain Kyle won't support it, either.
Did you see the running total and what was going to go where on Hannity and Combs tonight? Sickening! Every American needs to scream bloody murder about it...
Remember that first week when Landrieu stood up on WWL (?? thelocal station) and gushed that they were going to get so much money -- that SHE would see to it -- and when asked how much just replies a lot, more than you can even dream about.... since it wasn't national tv she wasn't teary and crying, but smiling ear-to-ear with dollar signs for brains. I've been turned off ever since.

"I think the FBI is suspicious of what he brought out in that trunk....hopefully, he will himself be investigated."
As I recall, he was already being investigated by the FBI before Katrina - offices in LA and DC (and I thought home(s), too) were being searched. Maybe they'll grab what he brought out as well.

He has earned MY respect.

You know, that is what is really griping me. What do these yahoo's think we pay them a salary to do? It seems that thing are so poisonous in DC that they can't even sit on the same committee anymore -- especially since Nancy Pellosi took over.

That's right. FBI had already found 150K in his freezer -- as Rush said, "thus the term: cold cash!"

I've certainly let McCain and Kyle know my feelings... I think I'll call tomorrow.

>>>That question bugged me. Rudy was the Mayor and had the authority by law to get things done and in place. Brown worked for FEMA .. who by law does NOT have the authority to take control of a City or State.<<<
This is one area that Brown disappointed me. All he had to say in response was, "I agree, Congressman. If the city of New Orleans had a mayor of the caliber of Mayor Juliani, this hearing would have been unnecessary. There would have been no reason for the media and those on the politcal left to cover up for incompetence of the New Orleans mayor."
I was also disappointed that Brown did not tell Taylor that anyone who believes the federal government should be in the role of handing out gasoline prior to a hurricane is an incompetent buffoon who does not belong in public office; and I was disappointed that Brown did not tell Shays that anyone who does not understand the definition of 'coordinate' is an incompetent buffoon who does not belong in public office.

We seem to have a plethora of incompetent buffoons. What's worse, they all seem to get on television!

Instead of Brown, I would be worried about pumping 200-250 billion into what is basically and EPA Brownfield sitting in a sinking fish bowl.
The large percentage of homes will need to be bulldozed because of mold and oil slag full of contaminates that cannot be completely removed.
The ground is contaminated and even if they manage to throw a couple of feet of top soil on it they can't be sure the contaminated will not eventually leak into the ground water.
The ground when it completely dries out will create a dust bowl of contaminated floating in the air. Some areas have such a high level of contaminated that it will burn to souls off your shoes instantly as I have heard a few guardsmen have already experienced.
The reporters keep showing video clips from safe areas or from vehicles as they have been warned of the danger of contact with these toxic contaminants on their hands or clothing.
In my areas customers want to know if the steamed crabs are from LA. and if they're the don't want them.
There is a lot to be considered other than these clowns trying to dump the failures where ever they may be found on the Federal government and away from the clowns in LA. that let it happen.

LOL! I bet she expected you to be like most of the other left-wing wackos in our lovely city. Wouldn't surprise me if she was one of the ballot stuffers for Fraudoire.

Only if they are bashing conservatives and Christians, or if they are supporting one of the communist planks.

Considering what happen today .. I think Mike Brown did fine in handling himself
The Congressman were the ones that were out of line
Though I did get a chuckle when I think it was Taylor asked Brown were the former Director in LA was
Brown's response was that he was "indicted"

Those firemen signed up for phone duty, not responding.
>>>Sort of like the firemen who were stopped for three days in Atlanta for Sexual Harassment training and then told they would be used to hand out flyer's so they turned around and went back home.
To: BurbankKarl
Why did they need sexual harassment training?
