Email to media concerning their actions and blaming Mike Brown.

Now that all the emotion has been spent and wrung out of the Katrina disaster, it is time to point fingers. I hope that some who cried like babies or got hysterical on camera will suddenly turn into mature adults. The news media wants to place all the blame on Mike Brown and away from where any one with common sense can see that that the governor and mayor of New Orleans were little more than Keystone Kops.

Since FOX News is supposed to be more conservative, one would have thought that they would keep their people under emotional control and that did not happen. It is just a shell game the news media plays on its viewers. Hell Shep baby, if you ain’t got a disaster then give them a loony car chase. Dang if it ain’t broke break it. If there is not a hint of racism then put on a joke like Juan Williams to stir up the black folks with his anti-white comments. Williams shows himself to be nothing more than a big old biased race baiter. He like many talking heads has no compelling reason to tell the truth.

Meet The Press; well what do you have to say about putting on a lying crybaby to point the finger away from the local crooks and towards whom, Mike Brown and FEMA. Tim Russert in his exuberance to spin the disaster in the Democrats favor forgot that he is first a reporter. I will never again watch MTP until he apologizes for his blatant incompetence as a reporter.

CNN, well what can you say about the original whore of yellow journalism. I do not put anything past these FOX wannabes.

All in all Katrina was a bad day for the mainstream media.

" If it was pre-positioned as you say, why did they not disperse it after the storm hit? Why did it take days?"

It's my understanding that FEMA only has about 2,500 employees. Included in that total are the ones needed to do procurement and other tasks to assure the goods are purchased, staged and moved. The size of the disaster area was about the size of the country of Great Britain (IIRC about 90,000 square miles) - - that's not many folks per area. If you didn't get the goods you felt you needed, that's too bad; however, even before 9/11 and especially thereafter, we've been told numerous times to have a MINIMUM of 3 days worth of food, water, medicines, etc.

And, with the advance warning by the hurricane center and the weather folks on all the stations, I don't understand why people didn't evacuate. Did you not have transportation? Isn't there someone you could have called?Did you not have a friend that could help? Did MO not provide transportation for those who didn't have it? If you had transportation, did you try to help someone out who didn't?
I really feel for the poor people and devastation down there, but, if it had been me and my family, if we were told to evacuate, we would have been out of there whatever it took.

I could use my brain, two legs, two arms, eyes and ears to at least try to do what I could to help myself in that situation.

But you see, you are a person of the right. We believe in personal responsibility for most things comes first, then local, then state and finally federal. It's no more complicated than that for me and when people like Scarborough, who rips the President over and over about federal spending, chooses to again rip him over Katrina, I say they have revealed their true stripes. And it's no less un-American than the leftists if you ask me.

No, sorry I don't watch anti-American television.

I would sooner watch the new al Queida news channel.

At least I know the news is biased on that channel.

And one of FEMA's best employees retired as of tomorrow because of the BS fallout of Katrina..... at least one of the congressmen was concerned about it today.

Don't watch the Main Stream Channels.

Mostly Fox News and TCM or AMC.

I loved it today when Brown commented there was no one local to work with, and when asked 'why not', replied he was indicted.

^^^^^^

One of the factoids that we have known on these threads for days, and that "MSM" have not chosen to share with their viewers. Every time someone said "FEMA" like it was a person, I waited for the reporter or commentator to add that LA had a dept of Emergency Operations, but the head of it was under indictment. Even the idea that LA had a StateEMA, if you like, was never mentioned. So the media were complicit in the gotcha game from the very beginning.

That never happened, when I was listening.

I hope no one is crazy enough to give those con artists a red cent.

I'm through donating to Louisiana's incompetence and thievery.

How can those two sleep at night.

For 250 billion they can just move New Orleans to Arkansas and dig a nice channel from the gulf.

He's that too but I've watched him for a long time and I find him incredibly twisted :)

I'd give him a 9. He held himself together during some rude and nasty accusations. He had his facts well in hand, and he did not respond with rudeness, just with enough 'edge' that the reps knew he wasn't going to whimper or go quietly.

If you can see the rerun of Brit's show, Brian Wilson did a report in the first 15 minutes of the show, with video of some of Brown's best comments.

Yes, just the same as we had after 9/11 with the clintonista gore-lick, right!??!

When you think you can stomach it, you ought to read through this document:

http://landrieu.senate.gov/hurricanes/MasterSectionbySection.pdf

Someone posted it last night on another thread. It is line item....everything they are requesting. Be sure to be sitting down when you read and have a Large bottle of Pepto Bismol ready for when you've finished reading.

I was flabbergasted actually.

I replied back to him, pretty much saying that if I was threatened by a hurricane, I could use my brain, two legs, two arms, eyes and ears to at least try to do what I could to help myself in that situation. I don't blame the disabled for not getting out because they had to depend on someone to help them, but there were thousands and thousands of folks that could have stored more food, more water and taken a bit more of an incentive to flee the area instead of waiting for the beaurocrats to come in and rescue them because of the lack of planning and responsibility shown by individual citizens.

If there is any lesson that should have been learned by a coastal population living in Hurricane Alley for a few hundred years, it is that Storm Surge kills by the hundreds and by the thousands.

What Is "Storm Surge" and Why It Matters. (Katrina Education Vanity)

It can be argued, public education being what is is today, that low-income folks don't know that.

However, there is absolutely no excuse for the Governor of a Gulf State not to know that and there is absolutely no excuse for the Mayor of a Gulf city below sea level not to know that.

Hundreds died because of the incompetence of Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin.

The liberal news media could be taking this opportunity to teach this lesson to all of America so that the FUBAR evacuation of New Orleans carried out by Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin never happens again.

However, the liberal news media would much rather have dead poor black folks with which to beat George Bush with that live poor black folks that they cannot use as political tools.

Just looked that up. He has quite a resume. All this time you would have thought he was just some Arab horse trader that got on due to political favors.

refused to apologize for not being Rudy Guiliani,

That question bugged me

Rudy was the Mayor and had the authority by law to get things done and in place

Brown worked for FEMA .. who by law does NOT have the authority to take control of a City or State

No one was shown dying at the Convention center. It seems that the reports we heard on TV were second hand, or rumors. In other words, there was nothing to SEE. What should have happened, however, wa that someone should have noticed that the TV reporters were hysterical and needed to be responded to immediately. Brown did not, because no one was passing that fact up to him.

Democrats say Republican lawmakers cannot fairly investigate the GOP White House

^^^^^^^

I believe that it is called "Congressional oversight" - one of the things those posers get paid for. Just because they do not Chair the committees, the committeess do not exist for them.

It is time that Americans remind them of their jobs.

My question is: was he afraid to kock thgeir heads together or were they refusing to answer his phone calls, and if so did he try to get the White House to intervene?
