I am seeing the same cult of personality developing around Guliani as there is around Bush. Guliani is anti-gun, pro-homo, and pro-abortion.

The chaos in NO has made people WANT rudy back in office.  Could be an interesting race if it were him and hildy going at it in 2008.

I will likely get some grief from some of my fellow pro-life, social conservatives, but I hope they will consider not only what an attractive candidate Rudy would be in the post-Katrina political climate, but also to consider the attributes Giuliani would bring to the presidency.

Anyone who supports Rudy G. is NOT pro-life. Pro-life is not something you can discard for the sake of political expediency. Anyone who supports the murder of the unborn and gay marriage is obviously a few bricks short of a full load in the character department - and character is EVERYTHING. I could not care less what other meaningless "attributes" he would bring to the presidency.

In Rudy Guiliani's America (like Guiliani's NYC), you can own a gun only if you work for Rudy Guiliani.

I'm not voting for him.

Ironically, Giuliani's positions on abortion and gay rights, while making it more difficult for him to win the Republican primary, make it almost impossible for opponents to paint him as an extremist.

Don't think they won't try.

For the record..I am pro-life..

That said, I also understand how reasonable people may not accept the pro-life stance as life beginning at conception. I do have issues with those find it harder to make the distinction past the first tri-mester.

Is Rudy "pro-homo"? Well being a straight male from NY/NJ I can also attest to meeting some great gay men and women. Should they be afforded the same rights under the constitution? Hell yes. Does that make me "pro-homo"? Doubt it. I don't believe in gay marriage for one.

Now on to Rudy. I disagree wholeheartedly with his views on partial birth abortion. Even under George Bush, abortion is still legal in this country. I do not think Rudy would impose a litmus test on any Supreme Court judge he may or may not have to nominate to the bench.

Rudy Giuliani is the best leader in this country bar none. I am not a single issue Conservative as are most Democrats and some here. Rudy would simply be the best for the country. The positive changes he brought to NYC seemed almost impossible to imagine. He did it with enthusiasm and grace. He has my vote.

Am I the only one who thinks if Rudy G. became serious about the Presidency he would move to the right? Look at where he was trying to get elected in when he was mayor. You aren't going to be very successful as a very right of center candidate in NYC. Nationally it is a different story. We see Hillary doing it, why do we think politicians from the right won't do the same thing?

Whoever the Republicans run for President in 2008, they would be well-advised to have someone on the ticket, either in the first spot or the second, who is strong on the Second Amendment. And I don't mean just lip service. I mean someone like Tom DeLay, who is not afraid to be seen in the company of law-abiding gun owners.

For entirely too long the Republicans have taken it for granted that gun owners would take one look at the gun-grabbing Democrats and vote in a block for the Republican candidate no matter what. Those days are over. There are other choices out there.

To get my vote in the next presidential election the Republican candidate, whoever he or she is, had better be vocal on a daily basis in favor of the right to keep and bear arms. And it would not hurt him or her to be a Life Member of the NRA. I guess that rules out gun-hating John McInsane.

Why are conservatives faced with choices from those who are either fiscally conservative or socially conservative, but not many who are both. :-(

If the Republican Party is STUPID enough to nominate Rudy "pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, gun-control-freak" Guiliani for President, it deserves to lose.

If you want to see President Hillary! inagurated in 2009, vote for Guiliani in the 2008 primary.

Rudy always looks good in a crisis situation because he is a true leader who is always in control.
He is a very appealing candidate for 2008.
One should consider all the issues, not be a single issue voter.
Rudy has never been a social activist. He is first and foremost a law and order guy who respects and enforces the Constitution and the law.
He has none of the "personality" baggage of McPain, and if you remember his speech at the 2004 RNC he is brilliant, charming, and speaks without notes.
There is nobody stronger on terror than Rudy. He is the one who threw Arafat out of Lincoln Center when The Arkansas Grifters met with him in the WH 20 times, and Slickette planted one on Arafat's WINO.
Very strong on cultural issues as well.....withdrew funding for the Brooklyn Museum because of the "art" displayed there was offensive to religion. ( the doo-doo on the Madonna scandal)
I don't think The Arkansas Grifters will get the Dem nomination, but if they do, Rudy, or anyone else with an "R" after their name will have my vote.He might get my vote in any case.

Listen, I like Mr. Giuliani, too. I think he's swell. I especially enjoyed him on SNL.

I think he's quite fit for certain public offices, especially as mayor of New York City, or Governor of New York, or as a US Senator from New York.

But I ain't gonna vote for the guy for president.

No way, no how.

Rudy is pro-radical homosexual agenda, pro-abortion (including the barbaric partial birth abortion, etc. He's not conservative. He's not even in line with the Republican Party Platform. It would be a disaster to put him on the ticket.
